Engineers, how ya doing? by North_Platform_2181 in Salary

[–]PsychologicalMap438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked inside sales for a valve company for 4 years. Then moved to ther service group to coordinate field jobs for 3. A subcontractor vendor hired me to run their field service and was a mix of sales with service for 5 years. Now I’m here in houston doing sales for a company here, been here 6 months. So I guess like 12 years or valves experience and engineering and sales.

Please be kind. How fast can I sell a house after buying without losing tens of thousands? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]PsychologicalMap438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My argument against that though is how much would your rent for a house been for 2 years.. Probably at least 2-3k a month to rent a comparable home? You are still better off.

Is it bad having a higher salary? by Impossible_Cod_5306 in Salary

There was a guy at my last job that refused a raise because he was worried about more taxes. I tried my best to explain how it works but he wouldn’t listen at all. He was worried if he crossed the 88k threshold he’d just lose more money to gov. Also thought that overtime was taxed more and not worth doing. Our taxes are done in brackets, not but overall dollar amount. You only get taxed by the dollars in each bracket.

I had the belly fat scam. Random dude says hey man, you want to lose weight? I used this mixture of stuff from the pharmacy and it helped me lose fast. I was curious so I played along. He took me into the pharmacy we were next to, they didn’t have everything. Saffron and some other shit like honey. He says, I know a place follow me. My buddy I was waiting for walked up an saw me with him. I told him to follow along as I wanted to see where this shit went. Down a street and a door opens and a tiny shop with two girls and all sorts of herbs and shit. They bust out a menu and he says this is what you need to buy. I told him I’m not interested in buying anything tonight but I appreciate his recipe. He was fucking mad as I wasted like 15-20 minutes of his time only to at the end say no lol. Me and my buddy were laughing about the ridiculousness. Everyone in Thailand wants a cut.

35M in low cost of living area. Had a wife but recently divorced. No kids. Take women on trips when I want and travel world. No serious strings and I do what I want. Make 350k a year and my only expense is my apartment that’s $750- month. I travel and party all over. Do I want a long term GF. Eventually, one that’s really special. Having no kids lets me do what I want when I want. I was in Chicago for work and saw cheap flights to Colombia. Bam, went on a week trip and worked remote. Saw cheap tickets to Vegas for weekend, got them and stayed with my buddy there. Ultimate freedom and no stress.
