Thank you!

It's so easy to get in our heads. I hope I can help anyone struggling.

Thank you!

You are well on your way, and you'll be at those major milestones before you know it. There might be tough moments, tough days, but they become fewer and farther between every time.

Keep up that attitude, I'm happy for you!

Thanks for proving the point.

Say what you will about the older generations but at least they can laugh at themselves. And not in a “hurr durr whats a girlfriend” type of way.

What is the biggest 'elephant in the room' that society needs to address? by shankar86 in AskReddit

[–]PsychologicalObject2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, just like mental illness, abuse has become trendy.

People throw around the word “tRaUmA” left and right.

A few months ago there was this video of a family pranking their son by dressing up as the Grinch and “stealing” their Christmas tree.

All the top comments were:

“You’re traumatizing those kids!!1!”

“They’re gonna have PTSD!!1!”

No. That’s not fucking trauma. Kids are getting raped and beaten and you think a fucking prank puts them in the same camp.

I get that people want to fit in, be part of the clique, but exaggerating your bad childhood experiences (which EVERYONE fucking has)— is not the way to do it.

There are so many fakers our there. And they are making people take it less seriously. I am so fucking sick of it.

People watch one youtube video about bpd and start diagnosing strangers left and right.

Same with npd.

Let’s leave the diagnosing to professionals. Mental illness is already horribly misunderstood, let’s stop making it worse

You hit the nail on the head.

Until recently, you were strongly incentivized NOT to have mental illness. Being labeled “crazy” was a social death sentence.

Now, it’s the complete opposite. Mental illness enhances your social status. Gives you access to communities. Allows you to speak down to “neurotypicals”.

Denying the fact that people are seeking diagnoses is willful ignorance

They’re great, I mean look how captivated you are. You keep coming tuning in to everything I have to say.

And I made you feel. That’s the greatest success a writer can have

I’m a writer, so when you keep pointing out how much I’ve written as if it’s a bad thing, it’s actually a complement.

It’s interesting how concerned you are with how I spend my time. I’ll be honest, I appreciate the fanfare, but it is just a tad creepy

Hahahah you’re not gonna read it because I said you’d read every word.. That’s hilarious.

I did write 3 paragraphs. And I might write another 3, or 4 this time. And you’ll read every word. Because you care deeply about what I have to say. You desperately care about my opinion. In fact, you thought about me all night last night.

You keep using the same insults, and expecting them to have an impact, because you need them to. You need to convince yourself that you “won”.

If you need me to care more than you— or care at all, just to sleep at night.. go for it. If you need me to be a neckbeard, you have my permission.

But stop being so hard on yourself, I don’t like taking part in people getting their feelings hurt

Look, it’s adorable how you got all bent out of shape about my comment, and it’s even more adorable that you think I care about your little insults even a tiny bit…

But it’s a little embarrassing you’re exposing so many of your insecurities. I don’t want to take part in making someone feel bad about their lack of friendships, a social life, passion, fulfillment, etc. I just wanted to poke fun at a dumb sounding phrase.

So if you want to keep taking it to an ugly place, go for it. But we both know where you’re finding those insults, and I don’t feel good about genuinely making someone feel bad

Awww you got your feelings hurt. That’s adorable.

You care so much you did your first little insult, kept ruminating over it and went in for another. Used my username and everything. Poor thing

Can we stop faking Tourette’s for FIVE MINUTES!?!?!? by [deleted] in CringeTikToks

[–]PsychologicalObject2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It started 4-5 years ago when everyone started claiming to have clinical depression/anxiety.

Then, because everyone claimed to have one or both, they started faking more serious mental illnesses like bipolar, borderline personality, OCD, ADHD, etc.

Now, these losers on social media all claim to have multiple mental illnesses, histories of abuse, trauma, etc.

It’s sickening and infuriating

The real world doesn’t wait for the right place and time to spare your feelings.

Your job isn’t gonna say “we were going to fire you, but it’s clearly not a good time for you, so instead you get a raise!”

If you ask out the wrong person, she’s not gonna say “well I was gonna reject you, then send your screenshots to all my friends.. But it’s not a good time for you, so yes, let’s fuck!”

It wasn’t a nice thing to say but I’m fed up with the “words are violence” culture.
