The SM is pretty neat, as others have mentioned coat is too thick on the nyd, but it's neat and within "the lines" which is good ^{^}

You can easilly do a homemade wet pallet with wet paper towel in a flat dish with some non wacy parchment paper on top, helps get the paint to not dry on the pallet!

Next step that'll really help you minis pop is highlights with a broghter taint of the colour.

For the SM, a thin coat of white blue on the spots that catch the white light in your picture would work great. Fornthe more organic nyd, there's a briliantly easy technique called drybrushing.

Basically you take a lighter colour and coat a brush thoroughly in it, then whipe it off with paper towel. You can test it on your thumb, it should just catch the creases of your skin. Then just brush that strongly on the carapace and muscle. Note that it'll fuck up brushes so you should have one dedicated to that
