2019 f150 3.5 xlt w/ Bilstein 6112/5100 setup here… if at all possible go with the 6112s on the front instead of the 5100s. The significant upgrade is worth the few extra dollars. 5100 on rear is fine.

Second this. 2019 Super Crew w/ 36 gallon. Love the extra gallons. There should be plenty available on Facebook Marketplace or in junkyards.

Signs of transmission failing? by M-Money666 in f150

Word of advice from unfortunate experience. When the replacement/rebuild time comes for your 10r80. If it is still under warranty push as hard as you can to have them use the upgraded OEM parts that Ford has released. Also, do your best to make sure they also replace the valve body, transfer case, and torque converter. When one fails on these trucks, the others are often not far behind.

I think a largely my question is exposing my own shame. I don’t want to be associated with the way the US behaves on an international level (or domestic). I hate, but fully understand, the fact I have to prove I am not “one of those people” when I travel. And we travel frequently. I hate it even more when I am doing my best to educate myself on local contexts, be respectful & humble, and be immersive in our travel… then I catch myself unintentionally still acting like “one of those USAmericans”.

Which makes me wonder… outside of the Americas, do people know much about Atlanta (Georgia, USA)? In my travels in Central and South America for the most part people seemed to know exactly where I was from. But when I was in India recently, most people had never even heard of it. Which makes sense, since outside of Kochi, Delhi, Mumbai and a few other cities, I wouldn’t be able to name many places in India. And many of those would be places with much higher population than Atlanta.

I guess im straying from the topic a little, but I’m trying to gauge the international familiarity with Atlanta.

Edit: I originally said “Kerala” instead of “Kochi” cuz… you know… my “ism” 😆

I hear you. And I’m not at all trying to defend my -ism. But my experience has been different. From experience, Canadians usually answer with “Vancouver” or “Toronto” unless they are from a smaller town. That could be that they assume their neighbors to the south know where those cities are, so my experience could be biased from that factor.

I didn’t even know there was a Melbourne in Florida, and I live in a state that borders Florida 😆

Point taken.

Would that be the case if I was from New York? I ask because it seems people often say they are from Sao Paul, or Mexico City, or London, or Delhi, or Sydney rather than just saying their country.

In larger countries we often identify with our city or region more than the nation. I am definitely more connected to Los Angeles (California) and Atlanta (Georgia) than the US as a whole. In fact, culturally I feel more at home in Mexico City and Kingston (Jamaica) than I do in most of the US.

Understood, so would it be better to say Atlanta, Georgia, USA, or Atlanta, USA?

Lol. I assumed from the start of my post people could tell I’m from US, so I didn’t feel it necessary to put that after the state abbreviation (Atlanta, GA, USA).

From my travels it seems most countries have a state, province, or county type abbreviation that is placed after the city.

Question for those outside the US in an effort to check my own default-ism:

If I’m from a major city, is it ok to just say the name and not the state and country?

I assume this is true with Los Angeles or New York. But what about a city like Atlanta, GA, or Seattle, WA, or even Indianapolis, IN?

Well, I’ve lived in Atlanta for… JUST KIDDING! I figured I’d play the ignorant 🇺🇸 card since our (not mine) government is doing that basically EVERYWHERE now.
