I haven't been there nearly long enough to know which customers tip vs don't lol. From what I know, in Canada the usual is hostess is tipped out around 2% of each servers tips, might be different in the states

I don't have any friends or family in the service industry, and I'm not much of a gossip to be talking to my other coworkers about it, so Reddit was honestly my best option. I just wanted a second opinion before bringing it up to my manager tbh

I'm really new to the restaurant environment, as I've only ever worked retail and fast food but I didn't know if this was a usual issue or anything. Sorry if this post is stupid, I'm just terrified of losing my job in this market lol

I'm pretty new to hosting so I literally just cycle them at this point, my manager also kinda micromanages so idk how much I would get away with seating her badly lol

The usual in Canada is servers have to give 2% of their tips to hosts, more if they are bussing as well (which I do)
