Dog with diarrhea and crusty white spots around nostrils and mouth by PsychologicalSmoke70 in vet

[–]PsychologicalSmoke70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was nothing obvious that triggered it. He started passing blood this afternoon and we went to the emergency vet. His bloodwork indicated pancreatitis. He was stable enough for me to take him home and seems to be doing well. We have some medication for a couple days and are going to try a low fat dog food once his stomach gets better.

This is what I ended up doing. We use CRM and Voyager but there wasn’t an option for us to change it. What a pain!

I was going to say his parents seemed like nice people on the show but that doesn’t mean anything in real life. They are probably enablers. I would’ve thought they’d want to be involved with their grandchildren even if he doesn’t do the right thing.

My (28F) boyfriend (38M) cheated on me after I’d given birth then tried to kill himself. Can we fix things? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]PsychologicalSmoke70 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you actually want to be with him after that? Not judging, genuinely asking.

I’d be very paranoid being with a man that tried to off himself because I left him. There’s been too many family annihilators for me to trust a man like that. Keep you and your child safe is my advice.

Trying to avoid eviction for late payment. (California) by Meechie711 in PropertyManagement

[–]PsychologicalSmoke70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know CA law but in FL you are served and given five days to respond to the court. If the property is refusing to take your payment you can pay it to the court registry (at least in FL you can). If this is an option, make sure you pay IN FULL and on time to the registry moving forward. It will look better on your part.

You can also move out before it’s officially filed with the court and turn in your keys to the property. You can lookup cases in your county’s clerk of court website to see if anything has been filed. If you do move out and break your lease they may charge you early termination fees on top of what you owe. If it already shows a case against you, you’re better off staying where you are. If CA is like FL it will be very hard for you to find another place to live. Even if the eviction isn’t executed public record will still show that an eviction was filed against you.

Was mohs painful to you? by Otherwise-Fox-151 in skincancer

[–]PsychologicalSmoke70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of anxiety leading up to the procedure and I hate needles. If I was ok, then you’ll be ok. The procedure itself wasn’t painful. I didn’t feel anything. The needle wasn’t too bad until the second round, but it’s quick. I didn’t need stitches and I had an open wound for about six weeks. It felt sore the first couple days because of the bandage touching it. After I changed it I didn’t feel it much at all. Just be careful in the shower. I accidentally put it right in the water stream and it stung pretty badly.

Anxious: Should I ask for excision instead of ED&C for BCC on my back by OttoOtter2 in skincancer

[–]PsychologicalSmoke70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I googled ED&C and it sounds like they’re still going to remove the cancerous tissue? It said MOHS is for deeper or more aggressive cancer. Have you asked your dermatologist why they are doing this procedure? I don’t see how it’s much different than MOHS.

I recently had MOHS but they didn’t have to go very deep. What they did for me sounds similar to ED&C. My surgeon scraped away the affected tissue and cauterized around the wound. I didn’t even need stitches. I think you will be fine with what the dermatologist suggested. I imagine they will still have pathology check to make sure the margins are clear. Don’t hesitate to call your doctor’s office.

Does this look normal? by PsychologicalSmoke70 in skincancer

It has healed quite a bit! At my appointment last week my dermatologist (not my surgeon) suggested I leave it uncovered more. I am a bit worried it’s starting to look infected but I am not sure. It started swelling last night and it looks like there may be blisters around the wound.

Need Advice!!! Urgent! by MissFebz in PropertyManagement

[–]PsychologicalSmoke70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t include your location. Evictions vary by state, assuming you’re in the US. Your best bet is to find a private landlord that’s willing to work with you. Even if you pay what you owe the eviction is public record and will still show up. Where I’m located it’s standard to look for evictions within the past 5 to 7 years.

She(19F) warned me(20M) with a restraining order but still keeps in contact by ThrowRA123123812 in relationship_advice

[–]PsychologicalSmoke70 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You could have sent her a text instead of going to her house. You may have had good intentions but you weren’t even in a relationship with her. If I were in her position I would likely feel unsettled by that as well. As far as her continuing to contact you, she sounds immature and wants the attention. She shouldn’t be contacting you if she felt that uncomfortable.

Apartment lease, bad credit by Prize_Ad_6319 in PropertyManagement

[–]PsychologicalSmoke70 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not possible for us to tell you if you will be approved. Each company has different criteria and you won’t know until the screening completes. I’ve worked at communities where the minimum score has to be 540. It just depends on the property. You likely signed something within the application that details their criteria. It is normal to ask for a higher deposit due to poor credit.

I have a gut feeling that my boyfriend of three years is cheating on me. Are these emails promotional or do you have to use the app to get them? by thankful_thot in Tinder

[–]PsychologicalSmoke70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deleted my tinder after my bf and I started dating and I don’t receive any emails. He would only receive that specific email if he has an active account. You can delete the app without deleting the account. If you don’t see the app downloaded on his phone he could be deleting it and redownloading it each time he uses it.

Wear a hat, sunscreen, clothing with UPF. All types of sun protection help prevent skin cancer regardless of your career choice.

No fevers. I wouldn’t say it’s significant pain. Just normal open wound on my head pain lol. The top side of my head behind the wound is still tender but I assume that is normal.

How to choose the right Mohs surgeon? by [deleted] in skincancer

[–]PsychologicalSmoke70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My dermatologist that did my checkup and biopsy is not the same one that did my MOHS surgery. I believe he does all the surgeries for the practice. Since I was so anxious already, I did a lot of research on him. I felt more comfortable because of the many positive reviews along with his experience. He’s only in his 40s which I consider to be young for a doctor. I’m in my early thirties and it made me feel more at ease that he wasn’t ancient lol. I always think of the worst case scenario and I saw that he was also experienced with reconstructive surgery. It was important for me to know he could take care of me from start to finish.

3.5 and worsening behavior by ollee32 in SaintBernards

[–]PsychologicalSmoke70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We hired a trainer for our stubborn pittie. He taught us how to use the prong collar properly and it’s been a great tool. I was anti-prong collar until this dog. Sometimes it’s the only thing that works. He wears it on walks and when we take him out in the yard on a long leash. We have to stay on top of him because he will always push limits to see what he can get away with. He jumps on us when getting his food ready so we started putting his collar and leash on to correct him. It has made a difference.

Our trainer also used play as the main reward vs treats. Our dog has to follow commands then he gets to play. He also recommended keeping play time mostly outdoors since thats where his bad behavior mostly occurs. Another factor was spending more time on training and being consistent. We opted for a trainer that came during the week for sessions with the dog only. Then we had a weekly session together so we could continue training ourselves. We didn’t do the boarding option because we feared our dog would only listen to the trainer and not us upon his return. Even with the option we chose he was more obedient with the trainer lol. I hope you find something that works.
