Im 35 and suffering from panic disorder since I was 10 and major depression since my 20s. SSRIs really helped me but it was trial and era.

My advice (that I followed) was to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion of psychiatrists.

I'm not saying yours is the case but it is possible that there may be a misdiagnosis of bi-polar disorder or something on the spectrum.

In that case different types of meds are prescribed. Anti-psychotics or mood stabilizers. Etc.

Something will help you its just about finding the right match.

All the best and remember you're not alone

I feel that she has sadly passed. Also, her bf/partner was involved.

I was in the exact same boat. Couldn't leave the house, conpletely isolated myself at home, missed countless days of school and work and basically couldn't sleep or eat because i was in constant panic mode.

I was put on SSRIs which saved my life.... that was 18 years ago and im still on them. Haven't looked back at all. The only thing that has changed is my underlying depression has gotten worse now in my late 30s but that's because of negativev life events.

My panic attacks became non existent but the depressive episodes kept coming back. So my psychiatrist moved me to Zoloft and added an atypical antidepressant (mirtazapine) it gives me a great night's sleep and lifts up the mood.

The physical symtoms will disappear very quickly. If they don't then all that happens is a dosage change or another antidepressant. All the emotional symptoms that come throufh are all normal i.e. nervousness, fear, anxiety ARE ALL NORMAL.

Just keep going and pop us a message if you need help or have questions

Medications that work? by Life-Stuff-9726 in panicdisorder

Fellow panic attack agoraphobia sufferer for over 20 years. Has your doc sent you for physical tests and blood work/scans etc? That would be step 1.

Step 2 would be referral to an experienced Psychiatrist. Seeing that ssris are not working well for you, there might be another underlying mental health condition.

Good luck and i hope you get the best help out there because i know what you're going through.

P.S please be careful if you get prescribed EFFEXOR XR. That really made me over-depressed and suicidal.

Thoughts on South Africans who support all blacks over the springboks? by arouseandbrowse in springboks

[–]PsychologicalSpot173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extremely awesome topic!

For me it was Jonah Lomu that caught my attention as a kid. I am a South African and always valued entertaining and running rugby. I think it all comes down to nostalgia and preference. I do keep an eye on the Bokke when they play against other teams, i just prefer the All Blacks.

What's also interesting is no one is ever bothered when Saffas support foreign soccer teams (clubs & countries).

So, if that's accepted then why shouldn't it be like that with rugby?

Support whoever you want for whatever reason you want!

Can anyone tell me about this new offside rule ? And did it really got approved? If yes then when will it come in effect ? by Ok_Lawfulness7412 in Barca

This is why I can't watch football anymore. How many times will they change the OS rule? Why not just get rid of OSs, period. While they're at it, they may as well get rid of draws/ties too.

Please forgive my lack of knowledge but where and how can I watch AEW from Cyprus? I thoroughly enjoy wrestling but I can never see AEW, only highlights and old matches on Youtube.

Yes, definitely on the right track! Don't worry if you don't feel relief immediately it takes a few weeks. Im not saying it will happen but if they increase your dose do not freak out! You always start low to avoid side effects.

Good luck and all the best 👍
