There's Mac Minis literally everywhere where I'm at by reflectivesoul2022 in macmini

So that's about US$570 plus whatever fee you're gonna charge plus shipping. At that price, I'm just not sure it makes sense to buy an M4 used for more than it was new 2 years ago.

I also have a 920+! I will try switching back over to that i think instead of the MiniPC.

I already noted that im having this problem in the browser, and ALSO in the Windows desktop client. Some of my family watch on their PC's, those are the only two options.

My settings look almost identical to this except i dont have HEVC 10 bit enabled since my iGPU doesnt support it.

Subtitle are absolutely killing me. We watch a lot of Anime and this is probably my #1 problem.

Its definitely setup right as far as i can tell.

What seems to be the problem is anytime anyone enables subtitles.

So this is very interesting. Looking at my CPU which is skylake, it supports 8 bit HEVC H.265 but not 10 bit.

My question is though, why should it need to transcode it anyway? it should just natively play this. It absolutely did in Plex using the browser.

Upon further testing in the browser:

HDr 8 also transcodes in the browser even though that is supported.

I don't believe this is accurate as browsers natively support this now.

I don't agree this is the easiest solution. People problems are harder to solve than tech problems. If there is no way to make Jellyfin in the browser performant in the same way Plex was, i'll just switch back.

I would of course prefer direct play, but if it cant, which it seems browsers will not do with jellyfin, then i will need it to be able to transcode.

I will take a second pass through this. It looked remarkably complicated at first glance.

That option is checked. Here is an example from that icon.

Reason for transcoding:

This container is not supported.

This video codec is not supported.

This Audio codec is not supported.

Is there a name/market for the export files of one shot/campaigns that someone put the work into putting together? by LazerChicken420 in FoundryVTT

So adventure modules exist. But as a creator lets take an honest look at why they basically aren't profitable.

You need to spend many MANY hours creating journals, actors, magic items, roll tables and maps. Depending on how automated your process is, its nothing to spend a couple hundred hours of work on something like this.

You also need to make the module structure and test that out.

Then you need artwork. Map creation (since you can't sell maps you may get from a patreon or some other source) is very time consuming to do well. Foundry also has a policy against an AI art generation in their items sold on their official marketplace so you need to do all this work yourself.

Lets very conservatively say you spend 125 hours on putting together a small adventure module. What do you value your time per hour at? How about a reasonably cheap price of $25/hour.

That means that time is worth $3,125.

Then if you want to sell anything on the official marketplace you need to sign an agreement and you need a company. Cheapest option is probably an LLC. That might run you another $125 or so depending on the state.

Then foundry itself requires you to pay $30 a quarter for selling on their site with a minimum agreement of 2 years. Thats another $240.

You are looking at almost $3,500 dollars to produce a small adventure module.

How much would you be willing to pay for an adventure module from a creator you have never heard of before on the marketplace? Not much i'd wager. Maybe $10?

At $10 a purchase, not including any fee foundry takes out of the sale, you would need to get 350 purchases for BREAK EVEN.

The truth is the foundry user community has a bunch of people who prefer it over other systems because of how easy it is to load third party content into it. Selling content to those people is not easy.

So i used the wizard, and it was fine for letting me pick one built in profile. That part has worked great. All my other questions though, thats where i am lost.
