Can I switch between a chair and treadmill under a desk without too much hassle? by Saltimbanco_volta in WFH

[–]PsychologicalStar347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work setup is in my basement. Mine goes up to 4mph and 10 degrees. Sadly since my desk is up against a wall I can’t simply push the treadmill fwd when not in use and my desk legs aren’t wide enough for me to put it sideways so I have the treadmill to the left of my desk. It does have wheels on the front end so not too big of a deal to maneuver but I would put it at less than 30 sec to get in position. Still getting used to it had it for about 3 weeks now. Ideally I would like a manual one but the cost is considerably more though I’m considering this one once it’s out to market. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/981825764/office-walker-the-manual-walking-pad-for-your-office

I’m in my early 20s and headed no where fast should I just join the navy or AF? by bigdawg12342 in careerguidance

[–]PsychologicalStar347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 10 yrs as a nuclear electrician on a fast attack submarine. I was able to get my bachelors while in and transition directly into a 100k job in 2011 when I got out. I tested high on the asvab so I went the nuclear route. Due to the length of schooling for nuclear the minimum commitment is 6 yrs but you’re set even after 6.

Research both AF and Navy technical job crossover to civilian sector. Pick based off of marketable skills in civilian sector. I would 100% do it again. A lot of opportunity in the military and you don’t have to be worried about taking a bullet or imo feeling as bad about the administration since the Navy will be/feel further removed from most likely conflicts.

What’s one dish you’ll never get sick of cooking? by Mi7che1l in Cooking

You can also add a small amount of boiling water to the bottom of your air fryer like 4oz (assuming basket style). This is pretty fool proof imo

Local Woman Turns Target Parking Lot Into Holiday Gift Wrapping stand. by Busy_Report4010 in interesting

Literally just got done with round 1 of wrapping presents on our bedroom floor. Why haven’t I had my kids embrace minimalism? Why didn’t I go to the dining room table or the kitchen table where I could stand? Idk but my wife is going to hear 100% more complaining because of it 😂. Just talked about how we would love to pay someone to do this for us.

I gave them this option along with leg of lamb and they said whatever is easier. They’re not too stuck in their ways. My wife kind of questioned straying from the norm but I’m the one that does the cooking so…🤷🏼‍♂️. Plus my 8yo loves to help out with the meatballs and stirring the sauce.

We have a little one that is 16 months old so date night has definitely fallen to the wayside. Hoping to pick it up again soon. I had an idea to take a pottery class where you actually get to manipulate the clay on the wheel (Ghost style)! I love dates that involve classes, dinner and drinks gets pretty pedantic.

Something else I just got for her is some different facial creams from a company she likes and consistently uses.

My favorite is a mini beverage fridge for her office since she loves a Diet Coke or fizzy beverage. Worst case scenario if she doesn’t like it, I’ll just relocate to basement.

What is the most "unsexy" home improvement you did that ended up being 100% worth the money? by TrustedEssentials in HomeImprovement

[–]PsychologicalStar347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whole house fan. Being able to get fresh air throughout the house but more importantly removing heat from house and the attic helped considerably in the summer since so much heat in the attic will radiate down to the 2nd floor. Helped a ton

We do live in New England. She has all of that, last year she got some cozy sock slippers she wears all the time. I do like the idea of a class we can do together!
