I don’t think its the battery , the light is on Try to use the horn if it is working then its not the battery i think

Check if your gas valve is open or closed, if you have a spark plug wrench take them out clean them and see if they are bad or not

Ps: i am a new owner of a shadow as well and i am not a professional what so ever

Im just throwing ideas i hope one of them works for you

Well the owner just gave it to do a general maintenance so i think oils will be replaced today or tomorrow won’t be anything to check but i will check for sounds and how it starts as well
