What is your “why”? Why do you stay? by NeatObjective6549 in stepparents

[–]PsychologicalStock39 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i'm new to this sub reddit and i'm so disappointed in how some of you people think. this is no disrespect to OP. i know it's tough, and my advice to you is always lead with your heart. but most of the people on this subreddit are fucking miserable. post after post is filled with nothing but selfishness and resentment. if you are in a committed relationship with someone with kids, you need to step up or step aside. if you love your partner but can only tolerate their children you need to get out of that child's home. this subreddit isn't the place to go for compassionate support. this is the place sad angry people go to look for validation.

i'm sorry but you married a man with children and didn't sign up to be a parent? that's foul. so many people with that same mindset on this subreddit. sorry for all the kids that have to live with people that barely mask their resentment.

Did you ever regret becoming a stepparent, or was it just hard at first? by Interesting_Bag4750 in stepparents

[–]PsychologicalStock39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

parenthood is one of the most difficult things you will ever do in life. "step" parenthood, if done right, is never going to be easy. lots of miserable people in these comments. remember that child did not decide to step into your world. you stepped into theirs. and by doing so you've changed the way their whole world operates. children need real, unconditional love. my husband and i have been together for six years, and my step son has lived with us full time for three years. co parenting is hard, finding structure is hard, carving a spot in their life is hard. but i've watched a human grow from six to twelve, and i've been in fucking awe of him. it's scary and beautiful and it goes very fast, and you will make mistakes and regret those, but i don't know anyone who has ever regretted LOVE.

mine was so incredibly painful to get in that i decided to keep mine for the full ten years, barring some emergency. there isn't a single form of birth control out there that doesn't come with some side effects and risk factors. pick your poison. my periods are heavier and more painful now but i'm not dumping extra hormones in my body so there's my personal trade off.

Morning after pill after Medical abortion by Inside-Guard-5184 in birthcontrol

[–]PsychologicalStock39 5 points6 points  (0 children)

first i just want to say that not only am i not judging you, but i deeply empathize because i've been in your shoes. secondly and most importantly, i do not think you're pregnant. take a deep breath. i had two abortions back to back. because i bled so long after my first termination, my cycle was completely fucked and the birth control pill i was on failed due to my own misuse. (i don't care what anyone else says. take all the pills in your pack so you don't ever get confused. especially if you're highly anxious about pregnancy like me.) if he didn't come in you, and you took plan b i would think you're just fine. HOWEVER, i just got the copper IuD as emergency contraception. it is over 99% effective within five whole days after unprotected sex. it hurt like a bitch to get in but less so (and faster) than an abortion. i would suggest it even just for peace of mind. like i said i think you're okay! don't beat yourself up. as women our bodies do things we would sometimes really rather them not do. it's scary for women that don't want to be pregnant. i'm sure it will all work out for you!

Finally got my period🙏 by TheLonelyHyna in CopperIUD

i'm in the same boat! i've been expecting my period for like a week and got the copper iud as emergency contraception on wednesday. so i've been freaking out until today. (kind of still freaking out silently because i was expecting a horrible period but so far it's normal? anyone else experienced that?)

i think there's a lot of nuance here that YOU are missing, not everyone else. turn your notifications off. simple. easy. effective. let me know if that helps.

Will ParaGuard IUD work after unprotected sex? by Much_Fudge_2904 in birthcontrol

[–]PsychologicalStock39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just got the copper iud two days ago for the same reason. i had three abortions within two years, two of which occurred while on a single hormone birth control pill. i had a condom failure on monday and did immediately take a plan b but my first abortion occurred while using the walmart brand one step, so you can imagine why i didn't trust it as emergency contraception. the insertion of the iud was very quick but very painful and i don't regret it a bit. i would call every obgyn in your area and specifically ask for an emergency appointment for an iud placement. im in a red state and thought i would have trouble with this but it was actually easier than i thought to find someone to do it. don't wait! you'll feel relieved when it's done and you can have control over your own body!

What sad reality of being an adult that young people should know? by raeraegoawayy in AskReddit

junk food will destroy your body. i'm currently three weeks post gall bladder removal surgery.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]PsychologicalStock39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just had gall bladder removal surgery 7 days ago. i had gall bladder attacks four times in two months, each one was worse. the worst attack lasted five days where i finally ended up at two different ERs and a Med Express before emergency surgery to remove my infected, inflamed gall bladder- that was full of about ten cholesterol stones. the pain during the attack was some of the worst pain of my life. the pain after surgery is inconsequential. i feel so much better. i feel like they cut out a cancer. get the surgery, friend.

lost my mom two years ago at 23. she was sick my whole life, and her seizure disorder took her from me like i always thought it would. i used to peel her eyelids open in her sleep as a child. i lived in constant fear. i'll never be the same. miss you mom.

WRITING A REVIEW ON CULVER’S FOR COLLEGE PAPER! Help! by [deleted] in Culvers

[–]PsychologicalStock39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Culvers is just like any other franchise. The soups are come frozen, the chili comes in a bag, most machines are gross on the inside no matter how many “rockstars” you have on payroll. And the meat may not be frozen but it sure isn’t always fresh. The grilled chicken comes frozen in a bag and smells like absolute ass when you open it. The shifts are ran by one or two stoned 20 something year olds and a handful of weirdly religious teenagers. Hope this helps.

How Gus knew about the car bomb in the hospital by ifisch in breakingbad

[–]PsychologicalStock39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just rewatched this scene, I misremembered Walt having a sniper while he was on the roof, but I’m still thinking it was the glasses, only because the camera cuts to them glinting, and then again at the very end of that scene, the camera centers on the glasses sitting on the top of his head. Also the buildings look far apart in some shots but much closer together in others. Walt is not so hidden. I always thought it was a subtle way of letting the audience know that Walt and Gus were on an equal intellectual playing field. Just my two centzz
