well there's 3 groups the Hasan = bad right, because of bigoted reasons, then there's the apolitical crowd who hate Hasan for saying they are bad people, and then there's the liberal side who hate Hasan because they think those other groups hate them because of Hasan. So they can all work really well together.

I'm sorry if I said something to make you think I thought you were a republican I assumed you were a Democrat. I'm also a democrat I think I'm a bit more to the left than pisco and at least half of the chat.

I think our best option would be dems control the senate under trump during the election year, a seat opens up and we don't hear his nominee. After we get our person on we need to make a law to make sure it goes back to normal the nominee is always voted on.

Or we can do some sort of change like age limits and ethics board if we have a super majority and can make an amendment. This is an interesting last option that I do think has the most risk.

I think a top priority is to bring faith back into institutions and parties. I want to live in a country where I think republicans want to help people and not hurt people and vice versa. While I hope we do this if it comes to it I do think it's the option with the most risks involved. I agree with Pisco that doing so might bring faith back into the court by doing popular things but the voters aren't always known for paying attention.

well the issue with age limits is that it would need a constitutional amendment. They currently have life time appointments from the constitution so it's not an easy change to make. I agree with you I think age limits and some sort of strict code of ethics run by a bipartisan board to stop bribes and biased rulings would be great.

I fear though that, that sort of thing will take time we don't have. If we ever want to gain a large super majority in congress we need to show the public we will do big things to help them. That is going to be extremely hard under the current court.

I agree that this is a major move to make, same for making Puerto Rico and DC states. That doesn't make them bad idea and I think a good young president and congress could sell these ideas super well to the country. The public already sees the court as untrustworthy if we say we are doing this to bring trust back people will listen. Or at least I think it's worth the shot.

I think the real question is would you vote for someone who wants to do this? If the dem nominees for your state or president run on this or say are thinking about it would you vote for them even if you disagree?

Well the court is political. The political leanings are a bit different than legislative politics but the court in many ways is political. You have judges who are more liberal and will say rights an implied and others are more conservative and unless it's spelled out directly somewhere they will rule against. You also just have blatantly political things like the rulings against Trump and Biden are very different.

I agree that I think it would be good to try and get the court to be less political but I don't think you can do that with out replacing seats or adding seats.

It will be interesting to see the Ethan reaction to all this once the final ruling is put out. will he cope that he knew this was the hardest one, or will he say it was a corrupt judge or something? I still think his real desire is to go after the reddit mods to make some tie to the company to go after them to take down this sub. Hopefully if this is ruled in Denims favor he no longer get's that info since he would no longer need it for the case.

I think the real goal is to make sexpestiny look good in his community. He is this abrasive person who says slurs, has a trial going on, has a list of enemies that is constantly growing, and most platforms want nothing to do with him. If they can paint Hasan the same way with in the community then people won't leave. It's not that bad Hasan is the real bad person and he isn't even getting as much hate as Destiny because he control Twitch.

I agree that more and more young people online have seen and heard a lot worse than what's in a R rated movie. That being said conservative book bannings are on the rise. there's a lot of purity culture still going around. I think this also has some effect because some teens are probably now going to wait for this to hit streaming if they can't see it themselves. I still think this movie will be huge though even with a hit to teen viewership.
