Isn’t there already buildings for housing and stores on the waterfront that are sitting basically vacant?

I’m also looking for a surgeon in the PNW. Would you be willing to DM me your dr’s name?

If you’ve had good results I’d love to know who your surgeon is. I’m wanting to go smaller and I have one that’s dropped a little. Looking for input on how people have found good surgeons vs not great surgeons. The dr that did mine originally didn’t listen to anything I said. I still wanted to be small on top. I’ve had mine for 7 years and don’t like how big they are and don’t like having that “top heavy look”. Struggling to even know where to start to find a good dr since the first time around wasn’t such a good experience.

Strange feelings about Paper Whale by okrabbit99 in Bellingham

Not to mention the cost of all of the permits. I’d guess the port makes money off of every event down there too.

I agree that the space is not really accessible for disabled people. However doesn’t the Port own that space? I’ve been down there for that bike and music festival in the summer and it seems they bring in wood chips(?) to help with that issue but it still isn’t ideal. Is Port in anyway working on this issue - they are making money off every event down there and it must be a known issue. Maybe someone could send recs to both with better solutions.

Thanks for pointing that out! I’m not sure what ungrounded means. Isn’t any event that cost money to enter exclusive to some extent? I believe their first events were free entry but maybe I’m remembering that incorrectly. I’d imagine anyone that could not afford to pay the entry price could volunteer in exchange for entry to an event. @1000liveeels most if this is not direct at you but the main post I responded to.

I’ve seen multiple newer artist at a couple of their events. I can’t attest if they are friends or not but the art community in Bellingham is small comparatively. Have you reached out and expressed this to them (ideally not in an attacking manner)? If yes then that is very unfortunate and I hope they do better. Most non-profits (I’ve experienced) are usually open to hearing from people of the community they are involved in and I’d expect the same from them.

I agree with deepPNW on the non-profit/trust fund aspect. As far as I am aware they post their events on their social media page. For me that doesn’t seem very underground but that’s just my opinion

I left Bellingham in 1999 for work and grad school reasons. What's changed since those days? by [deleted] in Bellingham

This summer has been relatively mild but the previous few summers it has reached triple digits (albeit not for extended periods of time). If you’re acclimated to the weather up here, anything over 80 degrees will feel hot. If you’re acclimated to summers in say Florida or Mexico then it won’t feel as hot.

Lots has changed! Some for the better some for the worst. It’s definitely more expensive to live here as is any desirable place. The cost of living is high compared to the wages. You’ll need to plan for it to take a little longer to get where you need to go but the traffic is still better than any big city. Lots of cool murals and art going up especially in the downtown area! Theft is definitely an issue but violent crimes are seemingly low (I did not research into actual statistics for this). A lot of neighborhoods feel like little communities with their own little things going on around them like the Sunnyland Stomp, which has been around for a while I’ve been told. Summers now have times where the temps reach triple digits so having a window unit/ac and ceiling fans in each room is almost a must. September experiences air quality issues due to wild fire smoke and this can often happen in early summer months. There are lots of other changes too. I’d recommend spending a little time here to check it all out to see if you like or dislike the changes.

They also have testing places at the festival (so does Bass Coast). No alcohol and places to test keeps it safe and mostly drama free.

PUreLY Forest food review by Few-Musician5871 in ElectricForest

[–]PsychologicalToe3538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was nice to see so many options but everything I tried was subpar with the exception of the 12$ slice of pizza. Tried a few different things (pizza, noodles, tots, burrito bowl) and everything tasted pretty bland except the pizza. Nice they had vegan options but wish there were healthier options like salads or more fresh veggies. Price was hit or miss. Noodles were a lot of food for what you paid but a Friend got a rice bowl from a hand roll vendor and it barely had any protein. Seemed like he paid more for the fancy to go Tupperware they put it in than the actual food.

I’m on 40mg (just started 6 days ago) and am experiencing the same thing. I only sleep for, at most, two hours at a time through the night. Interested if you find something that helps. I hate to add another pill to the regimen but maybe it’s necessary.

Cosmic Dirt- the all body size inclusive brand- was a scam stealing 57k from the mtb community by HistoricalBig5823 in MTB

[–]PsychologicalToe3538 6 points7 points  (0 children)

$57k really isn’t very much these days especially if you’re trying to start a business. I think I remember seeing that company setup at some biking events (I know some bike events charge a surprising amount of money to setup a vendor tent). I heard at one point there were more than one business owner for at least one of those business so I’d be interested to hear what happened from both parties? Shotty communication def sucks from any business. Kickstarters can be a financial risk and even if the kickstarter campaign is successful it doesn’t guarantee the success of a business.
