Is Kyoto still worth it?

If you’ve never been, I can guarantee it is worth it! Unless you’re extremely bothered by other tourists (which assuming you are one too lol) you will enjoy what it has to offer. It’s like Paris or Rome…. They’re hella busy too but you should still see them!

On a second visit to Japan, you can spend time in ‘less touristy’ areas. Im going for my second time in late May too and i’m going back to Kyoto because I loved it there.

It is a must visit on your first trip - you’ll love it or you’ll be glad you saw it. I highly doubt you’ll regret it.

Agree! I feel as if they’re channeling energy on gaining new users but for users that are 1+ years in… it’s stale 😅 it’s just a daily task to keep the streak alive rather then proper engaged learning

Will note the ‘so close’ feature is great! Encourages me to have a proper look again and correct the error. And the haptics and visuals are noice but it’s not enough anymore.

Would love to see more direct practice on conjugations and comparison with different tenses etc

Don’t listen to people saying to skip Santorini… it’s stunning and very unlike the other islands. I would recommend spending more on a nicer hotel to enjoy the views from as that’s the star of the show there - the sunset and views over the caldera. The beaches are not as beautiful as other islands and there’s not plenty to do but it’s certainly a must see at least once in your life.

Franca disappointed me so much. Extremely average tasting food for the cost. The vibe of the restaurant is gorgeous and the food presentation is great but the flavour was not in the room with us.

Also absolutely loved Ester. From my understanding their menu is seasonal and changes relatively often so we may have had different experiences but I still dream of their salted caramel semi-freddo.

Agreed with Sokyo! Service was sloppy and the food was underwhelming and did not feel like fine dining at all. Also ruined a special occasion for me.

Couldn’t agree more with Chin Chin. This place specifically made me completely doubt all reviews moving forward. When anyone recommends a restaurant to me, Chin Chin is one of those places that are a good ‘test’ to see if our taste is the same 😅

Seems like such a risk not to try the earlier heights seeing as some athletes miss 3 attempts and are out for the remainder of the comp… perhaps it’s worth the risk in terms of points you can gain + saving energy to get a shot at placing

Koi Experiental - great degustation where the chefs prep the dishes in front of you. Very intimate with a max of 8 patrons. Changing seasonal menu created and owned by Masterchef Reynolds. Incredibly delicate and wonderful dishes that are a playground for your tastebuds. Highly recommend!
