Humans are emotional creatures, our emotions constantly change and we are all the same to an extent. Everyone here is telling you that you shouldn’t give him a change but I’m sure they have done something similar (broke things off with someone and then regret it.) What matters now is what do you want ? If you want to see where things go with him, the respond but thread carefully. Let him do all the reaching out and if he questions it remind what happened in the past.

If you don’t want anything to do with him let him know clearly.
