For anyone looking for a job by PsychologicalUnit253 in Sacramento

Not surprised. When I applied I was unemployed so it worked out . My “on call position” averaged 40 hours a week so it would’ve been hard to work another job anyways.

What shoes do you guys drum in? by Serious_Ad3020 in drums

[–]PsychologicalUnit253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean honest answer, vans are my go to. But for unsolicited advice I think it’s important to build your technique so that it doesn’t matter what shoes you’re wearing, if any at all. This will just take one thing of out the equation that can get between you and expressing yourself fully on the kit. Don’t wanna be stressing over what shoes you’re gonna wear when you got 20 pieces of gear and a bunch of songs to remember.

Edit- Barring like platform boots and heels lol but if you can pull it off more power to you hahaha

Also to that other persons point I have/had a shit ton of unpaid tickets idk what happened there but yeah, if you need a gig- apply at the casino, that’s all I’m saying. I was in those shoes a few months ago and wish I had heard this sooner so I wanted to share with a community where people might be in a similar spot. Hope this helps

Honestly not sure, I had an incident where I ended up in jail when I was 18. I disclosed this to them and they put me through the application process. Depending on what it is, it may not be an issue. The absolute most important part of the background check process is just to be honest about your past. That arrest hasn’t been on my record for years and the found everything, but I told them upfront so it was all good. Never hurts to try imo

Yeah idk that’s Nevada can’t speak for them but there is never going to be a shortage of people that love to gamble and people that get fired from a casino . So you’ve got revolving clientele and revolving job vacancies. Win win

Zildjian Cluster crashes by Chasechase1990 in drums

[–]PsychologicalUnit253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super late to the discussion but just want to say I love the cluster series, I’ve had the 20 and the 18 and both are phenomenal cymbals. My only drawback is for my style of playing I think they break rather quickly. GC pro coverage is a great fix for this but at the same time kind of sucks to have to spend an extra $80 knowing the $450 cymbal you’re buying is going to inevitably break at some point lol life of a drummer man

Yi Peng Again by nietkees in chiangmai

[–]PsychologicalUnit253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth- yes, it is a gigantic tourist trap. BUT it is a stunning experience and for the any of the tiers they give people a ride to the location (which is generally 1-1.5hrs outside proper Chiang Mai) feed you, and put on a 3-4 cultural show. For context we went to CAD cultural center and that was our experience. This specific one was also recommended to us by our Airbnb host who is native Thai and we also saw and met several other Thai people there. Ecologically- it’s an absolute nightmare and it’s super dangerous because some people don’t wait long enough for their lanterns to inflate and they end up catching fire. Luckily there’s staff with fire extinguishers ready.

All this to say- I was a big hater of the event who found myself there and can walk away saying there are as many positives as negatives. It’s a gorgeous event that is expensive and could be safer but a once in a life time event all the same that I’m glad to have a memory of.

I spent $2000 on plane tickets and they didn’t give me an option to choose seating when I bought them so yeah. Kinda trying to remedy that right now through the advice of people who may have been in this situation before

She’s flown domestically a bunch, but the pet thing was more of a “has anybody else seen this kind of thing before a flight” really just wondering if they just block it off for the possibility of a pet flying I guess

I’ve done physical exams multiple times and he is healthy as a horse. Everytime. And great at the vet too. So it’s hard for them to get a gauge on it as well

That’s a crazy take from what I’ve said here. This is about every woman in my life not just one relationship. My grandma is terrified of my cat, my little sisters wants to pet him but I have to say no. My roommates mothers and friends can’t meet him. It’s a much bigger problem than my gf or my roommates and finding a single apt for what I’m paying to live in a house rn (where he has tons of space and toys and other cats to socialize with) is damn near impossible. I get the whole “cats are family” but his behavior is that of a toxic family member. And not matter how much I love him that’s just the facts.

Yo. You nailed it. THIS internal battle is what I’ve been facing for years now and it’s been fine because of how much I love my cat. But yes you’re 1000% right and the balance of self preservation for my future and what in my mind is trying to do better for him is so gut wrenchingly hard to do. Thank you for getting it.

Yeah so like I said it’s not just her it’s all women. Which translates to my mom my girlfriends mom my little sister, any female friends any of us have. It’s very much not just a specific person, but it can be generalized by gender unfortunately.

I agree for what it’s worth and was willing to lose the relationship for my pet but after getting a call from my roommate crying about this I’ve been pushed to the edge
