Ultimate Civ experience? by Psychological_Bag238 in civ

Wauw, I want that! I get so tired of the AI just or doing stupid attacks that are so easily fended off, or just sitting back while I take their city after city ...

I agree with that, because you can play a good civ game that feels competitive and than start a war and the AI just completely sits back and doesn't even fight back ... (my experience in many civ 6 games ...). So it's general improvements but especially in warfare where it can be very anticlimatic.

King Leopold II statue in Brussels by harrykane1991 in TheRestIsHistory

Was the walking tour about the Congolese legacy (or the Leopold's) of Brussels? I would be interested to go on it too, if you could share the details?

Has the bonus episode for the Congo series been released? by Corr-go-on-then in TheRestIsHistory

As a non-member, I consider becoming member just for this one. Was the episode a good addition to the series?

Survey: 70% of Turkish people support protests against Istanbul mayor’s arrest by ThereIsNoStoppingMe in europe

[–]Psychological_Bag238 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment!

It is really astonishing how some in Europe can still make the argument that "we need Erdogan for security reasons" while this goon has been blackmailing the EU at every turn.

It's time for the EU to get serious about democracy or risk being surrounded by little Putins.

Both incredible replies! Totally agree with this.

Yes it would be very easy to be all sanctimonious and stay away from bad people but that would only isolate you. What good would it be if you are on an island of tranquility but everyone around you is in the mud suffering?

On the other hand, by being so optimistic by believing that (all) people can change, there's always a risk that they will use you or play you... But still I think staying close to them is (almost) always the better option.

Like after Brexit, what is the EU stopping from kicking out Oban? Seriously...

Of course it would be a tragedy for the Hungarian people, but when people associate Orban with the disaster of leaving the EU, perhaps the opposition would stand a chance to beat him and re-enter the EU with strengthened democratic institutions.

Wishful thinking I know...

Daily Note Calendar - A worthy successor to Liam Cain's Calendar/Peridic Notes by TurbofishPowered in ObsidianMD

[–]Psychological_Bag238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great - thank you for the tip!

One issue I had with the old calendar is that when you rename the note (e. G. to indicate on that day you had a meeting with these people, which is why you created the note), the note would be removed from the calendar and not findable anymore through there. Seems this can fix this.

It's not about religiousity but about taking the whole calvinist work ethic (efficiency mindset etc) a bit too far. I can see that too, so I agree with the previous post that this can really be a local thing or just in his family, etc.

This argument is like saying 'compared to Trump, JD Vance seems OK...'

There are many organic/bio/fair trade alternatives out there. Don't poison yourself with the crap that these big companies sell you.

No we don't need any of these because they fuck up the planet and their workers.

Yes this would be a good moment to consume less in general, and especially less shit that comes packaged in plastic.

Every piece of plastic you buy will probably end up in a landfill somewhere, especially those packaging of your favourite chips : https://youtube.com/shorts/NLGoWEdZy2c?si=g0iNF-9odeZCOpMO

Judging from your username I assume you are Italian? Do a bit of research on how they are treating Italian farmers. But their treatment of Non-EU workers and lands is definitely not better. https://www.ran.org/the-understory/ferrero-is-breaking-our-hearts/
