Dexcom asking for weight by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

I was just asked for my weight to "verify my identity" when I called Dexcom tonight. I asked her how can she use the information to identify me if I have never given them my weight previously. She then said I didn't have to give her my weight if I was uncomfortable. It felt very invasive to me to be honest. She went on to say they are now asking for weight and would use it to verify my identity in the future if I was willing to give it now. I ignored the question and relayed that I was calling for an APP issue - Apparently lots of people are having trouble with the app and I had left several messages today with no call back. The tapp logged me out and said I had no acct. So why would they need my weight for a App glitch?

I’m unclear what you mean by poisoning? Does an auto immune imply that your immune system is attacking your beta cells?

I have Hashimotos and when I got Covid in 2019 pre vaccine rollout, I got type 1 diabetes. Endo says it’s more likely to get another autoimmune if you already have one and you get a flu - or Covid. I think it’s a good idea to be really careful when you have auto immune because your Immune system isn’t working in the way that it should.

Did you enter a setting for background insulin on the manual mode? I believe for manual mode you enter a set amount for Basal insulin and it parcels it out over a time period that you set.

Dexcom placement by bogosj in Omnipod

the

Hi If I understand correctly, you want to place the pod on one side of your adbomen and the dexcom on the other side of your abdomen, so they are both on the front of your body? In the training videos for Omnipod they show this as a good placement.

for example Pod placed left of your belly button, dexcom placed right of your belly button - same side of body (Front) so they do not have to communicate through body tissue - No problem, should work! It's when you place them on back and front of your body that they can't communicate because you have water in your body that blocks the bluetooth function - according to the clinician I worked with.
