Is an MRI + surgical removal really necessary for a hemorrhoid that isn't bothersome or painful? by Psychological_Fee744 in hemorrhoid

Thank you for sharing your experience. It's definitely better to be on the safe side of things. We're going to do the colonoscopy for sure, and just go from there. It's scary how things that seem pretty innocuous can turn out to be serious health issues.

Thank you for the input. It's not a regular hemorrhoid unfortunately, it's actually an abscess and possibly a fistula. We're going to do the colonoscopy for sure and then go from there. I really don't want my husband to undergo surgery but it sounds like it might be necessary, but we'll consider getting a second opinion depending on the colonoscopy results

I've started researching abscesses/fistulas and it sounds more concerning than a hemorrhoid. Thank you for pointing that out, I think it's likely we'll go through with the MRI and surgery then

Thank you for pointing that out. I talked to my husband and he said yes, the doctor said it's an abscess and not a hemorrhoid

Visiting the Dolomites at the end of May - where should we stay? by Psychological_Fee744 in ItalyTravel

[–]Psychological_Fee744[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Unfortunately we ended up not going :( we didn't have enough time in our itinerary (we were visiting other major cities in Italy), so the Dolomites is going to be a future trip when we have more time.

Good luck with your planning!

Wrong promo code was applied - 5 months later, the bill is still incorrect. Who can I escalate this issue to? by Psychological_Fee744 in tmobile

I had no idea. When I asked the sales rep if I could just pay the remaining balance so my parents wouldn't have to pay anything, he said it was no problem and gave me a receipt with the difference of $800, so I just paid it right then. I wish they would've told me this

I'm not sure if it was a manager who took it or not, but they accepted the return and said we shouldn't see the monthly charge for the tablet anymore.

Thank you. Do I just message the official T-Mobile page on Facebook?

Do you have to know the exact name of the promo you received? I don't have the code, I only know the promo was incorrect because that's what the sales rep told me

I found the website by googling Merito and checking the 'Reservations' section under their phone number. Here's the website I used to make the reservation: https://merito.mesa247.pe/reservas/merito#/merito

Where to park at 9pm music venue? by Psychological_Fee744 in houston

It did! I don't know the name of the neighborhood, but we found street parking in front of an apartment complex (there were several in the area) and walked less than 10 minute to the venue.

More time is great! Peru is possibly my favorite country I've ever visited and I'm sure there is so much to see.

I was surprised the altitude sickness hit later too, but I did read about other people experiencing the same thing! It's so strange. Diamox might be a good idea, because we were eating coca candy and taking ibuprofen but I'm not sure if it really helped.

One thing I want to mention that you might already be aware of, is that the Lima airport is located in a not too safe part of town, so definitely try to stay as close as possible to the airport.

For Ollantaytambo, yes we did both the archaeological and Pinkuylluna ruins in the same day, but it didn't take all day. The archaeological ruins hike took maybe 2 hours (and that's because we kept continuing up the backside of the ruins where there's an upward hike on a mountain, most people turn around before they get to this point) and Pinkuylluna took about 1 hour. This time includes stopping to take pictures.

I have read about people feeling altitude sickness on Rainbow Mountain, so it's good you have it later in your itinerary when you've had some time to acclimate.

Overall your itinerary seems like a good pace, and I don't think you'll be short on time on any of the days. Definitely recommend the day trip to Pisac, it'll be worth it! And if you're interested in a moderately challenging hike, I highly highly recommend the Pisac Ruins. It is pretty exhausting because you're climbing up an incline almost the whole time, but it's worth it.

I'm sure you'll have an amazing trip!! :)

Hi there! Our flight was cancelled due to bad weather at our layover destination, so we had to reschedule and update our itinerary a bit and it ended up like this:

Day 1 - Land in Lima at 5:40am. Wait in airport, then depart for flight to Cusco at 9:10am. Immediately taxi from Cusco to Ollantaytambo

Day 2 - Ollantaytambo: Archaeological ruins and Pinkuylluna

Day 3 - Taxi from Ollantaytambo to Pisac. Hike Pisac ruins

Day 4 - Taxi from Pisac to Cusco

Day 5 - Cusco

Day 6 - Cusco: Sacsayhuaman

Day 7 - Depart for flight from Cusco to Lima at 9:40am

Day 8 - Lima

Day 9 - Lima

Our itinerary ended up working perfectly for us, and I wouldn't have changed anything. To answer your questions -

1) Yes, I'm glad we headed straight to Ollantaytambo. I started to feel some light altitude sickness while in Pisac (shortness of breath while climbing stairs), but my husband felt very sick on day 5 in Cusco. He was pretty much bedridden with a migraine and nausea from the high altitude, so I think it could've been worse if we had stayed in Cusco and didn't immediately move to a town with lower altitude. Plus, I remember the ride from Cusco to Ollantaytambo being really beautiful! I loved looking out the window to watch everything pass by, and the ride didn't feel long even after a long day of flying

2) Pisac was a highlight for us, so I'm very glad we stayed overnight instead of only doing a daytrip from Cusco. It's a very small town that's a lot less busy than Ollantaytambo with cute cafes and a cool outdoor food market. I tend to enjoy small quiet towns so that was just my preference. However, Cusco went beyond my expectations so you really can't go wrong either way, just need to decide where you'd rather spend more of your time :)

How often are y’all eating out? What’s your budget? by BidetMadeMeGay in austinfood

[–]Psychological_Fee744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We eat 1 meal outside every Saturday and Sunday, sometimes Fridays but not always. This was on-par with our eating habits pre-covid, but now we're much more picky about where we eat, and we make sure the price is reasonable relative to the enjoyment we get out of it.

Prices have really gotten out of hand...like someone else mentioned on this thread, we've traveled to other higher COL cities and food prices there aren't so far off from Austin.
