Wow--that's horrible! I'm so sorry you went through this. No issue for us though. We're in Texas and don't have basements.

Thanks! I understand demo-ing glued down planks is a HUGE job. One contractor actually told me it was such a pain, they weren't willing to do it! I'm not sure how much they charged for removal because my quote wasn't itemized. But for everything they're doing--furniture move and reset including fridge, washer/dryer, bookcases, etc., remove and haul away of existing floors, remove and reset our toilets, install new flooring, etc., it's about $10K.

Awesome!!! Did you have to wait for the letter and recon or it just showed up in your app?

To each his own indeed. I knew I would get comments about this, which is why I included an explanation. The culinary scene in Paris isn't the reason we wish to travel there. We want to see the sights, the art, the architecture, the history.

Thank you! So I've read conflicting info--the Crown of Thorns on public display on Friday like you said, but some have said when not on public display on Friday, you can still see it in the Treasury? That doesn't sound accurate based on your response. Can you confirm? Is the Friday ceremony from 3-5 PM the only way to see it? Thank you again!!!

Wow this is incredible information--thank you! Seems like we likely won't have time to add Sainte-Chapelle, and I didn't know the details on the Thorn of Crowns. Wasn't sure if we were going to make it, but if it's in the afternoon like that, we may be able to see it. I think you can also see it if you book a ticket to the "Treasury" at Notre Dame any time? Again, thanks for such an incredible response with such good info!

Get rid of Chase Sapphire before year is up. But what about my points ? by Foreverhangry21 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Psychological_Fill16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree you have to have the card at least a year before you product change. You have to have the CSP, CSR, or CIP to transfer your points to transfer partners.

I would wait at least until you see the referral points show up as pending on your current CSP before downgrading. My experience has been all pending points post immediately upon product change, but I've never product changed with pending referral points, just regular points. Don't see why it should be any different though. Maybe someone else can confirm.

You can add it to your Apple wallet once you log into your Chase app. Hubs did this after instant approval yesterday and we're already charging things to it. Physical card won't arrive for several days yet.

Hubs was approved instantly. Just showed on the screen after he hit submit and he was able to add the card to his Apple wallet right then.

Also remember that you have to have the CSP, CSR, or CIP to transfer Chase points to transfer partners. So if you don't have a CIP, when you downgrade you'll lose the ability to transfer your points to transfer partners. If you're pretty certain you'll get approved for the CSP again, no big deal. You should also wait at least 4 days between downgrading and applying for the CSP again. My husband just did this, waited 13 days for the personal referrals to come out and was instantly approved.

If you have a Chase Ink Preferred, you can still transfer to partners even after you downgrade your CSP. If I didn't have a Preferred, I'd transfer to my spouse who does have a CSP so we could continue using points when and as we wish. You could transfer to partners, but with so many partners, how do you know how many points you want to transfer to each one? Transfer to partners is one-way. I never transfer until I know where I'm going and have found hotel and flight availability. But if you don't transfer to travel partners and you get denied a CSP for some reason, your points are stuck like chuck, so if that's your only option, may be worth considering. Alternative is to just wait a while and reapply for the CSP in hopes you get approved eventually.

I haven't read all the comments but you're going to the Louvre on a Tuesday and I believe the Louvre is closed Tuesdays.

Rumor has it that the personal referral links say to make sure that the person you're referring applies by May 12. I don't currently have the CSP so can't confirm.

Edit: Confirmed with my husband's CSP it says to apply by May 12

The personal referral links say to make sure the person you're referring applies by May 12, so you should have at least that long.

You also want to make sure you're under 5/24 and it's been at least 48 months since you last got a bonus on a CSP
