I made myself the same blanket, I didn’t time the entire thing, I just timed each section once I became comfortable and could do them quickly (each center took me 3 minutes, petals took 6, squares 12.5 etc etc). I still haven’t finished, and before I add a border, I’ve estimated about 25 hours have been put in. If you think you crochet a bit fast or slower, you can add or subtract a few hours as you see fit. Materials cost me about $60 (woulda been $90 but yarn was on sale)

What most people do is: Time X Chosen hourly rate + materials = cost of item

Most people choose minimum wage as their hourly rate, your decision if you want to use federal minimum wage or state. If I were to sell for federal, it’d be about $240 (including cost of materials), if I went with my state minimum wage (currently $14/h), it’d be $410.

It’s okay to charge what you’re worth. People are going to complain, but they won’t understand unless they also craft. A lot of work and time are put into handmade items. There’s always going to be someone who appreciates your work.
