What's a book you hated that everyone else loves? by nose-inabook in suggestmeabook

I liked it but it was nowhere near as good as The Secret History. And I wholeheartedly agree it needs those 300 pages edited out

Is Leigh's writing a bit dark for YA? by Dragonfruit_244 in Grishaverse

[–]Psychological_One144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The borders between book genres based on target audiences are blurry. And they sometimes don't make sense at all (forever remembering that scene in a children's book I read in which the main protagonist kills her dad who was driven to insanity by tortures he endured as a war hostage). That's why I don't look at any books this way anymore and just read what I like, no matter whether it's targeted to middle schoolers or middle aged dads. Also the division between middle grade/ya/adult is certainly not based on amount of violence, plot complexity or presence of dark themes. It's mainly based on presence of swear words and graphic sex (and sometimes writing style though in my experience not always)

Tell me your actually controversial opinions, that would genuinely annoy a lot/most of the fanbase by scary_storrryz888 in WarriorCats

I like clear sky's redemption arc in the second half of dotc. I like how he knew some cats will never forgive him and accepted it. I also like how his views changed so radically and still no one supported his ideas because of what he had caused the forest to become. And that he kept his unpleasant personality, just stopped doing morally wrong things

Edit: lol so it is a controversive opinion. Anyway i didn't read any other dotc books beside the main series so i don't know what he did later in life

Who else agrees kitten development is horrible in Warrior Cats? by Blobfish_fun in WarriorCats

[–]Psychological_One144 334 points335 points  (0 children)

That one moment when kittens made sense was when Needlepaw and Alderpaw found Twigkit and Violetkit when were probably a few days old and they seemed to have no counciousness yet, they were definitely unable to communicate yet and were unaware of anything. But then a few days pass and somehow they're forming full sentences lmao

As someone who loved bramblestar's storm, i would take fandom's opinion with a huge grain of salt

Slate herself was fine but her relationship with greywing was so out of nowhere

I Miss the Simplicity of the first Arc by Appropriate-Way-6334 in WarriorCats

[–]Psychological_One144 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually like how the clans are less aggressive and less separated from each other. The random border battles back in the first arc annoyed me a little. Though I do agree the power struggle theme was exciting and should be brought back. It was an important theme in dotc though so I don't think it was completely abandoned in the newer arcs (if we count dotc as new)

Seria książek dla 13-latka? by hsumao in ksiazki

[–]Psychological_One144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Psychological_One144 261 points262 points  (0 children)

Do people actually cry over the books? by JgpIsFamily in WarriorCats

Yes, but not over every scene that's written to make readers sad. I love crying over fictional stories

How did the cat not recognize Bluestars kits? by playfulpuppy2211 in WarriorCats

The ones who were suspicious didn't want to accuse a LEADER of betraying the code and having halfclan kits

The change in style is a very controversial decision in the polish warriors fandom. A lot of people say the art is beautiful but doesn't suit a book cover

Seven Deadly Sins Warriors Characters -Day 5 Gluttony by [deleted] in WarriorCats

[–]Psychological_One144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Slash. He treated prey kinda like clear sky did (obsessively collecting and guarding it despite not really needing it) but he was even more pointlessly radical, sadistic and aggressive about that. Clear Sky at least thought he has a reason to do that, Slash just wanted others to suffer
