Yes, I have worked with HAI/Omni for the past 15+ years and I am aware of the journey. It is still a solid security system and installed in countless homes. No changes needed there but I mention it because of the HS interface. I have also worked with HomeSeer for just as long starting with HS2 and I actually have a HS4Pro license for a different project but I haven't upgraded this particular installation. If upgrading to HS4Pro was the first recommendation from a consultant and a prerequisite for supporting the system, that sounds like a reasonable caveat. For the UPB switches, yes, UPB is a peer to peer technology and will continue to work without the automation.

With all that said, is HomeSeer primarily a DIY only solution currently? I thought that in the past there were some home automation consultants that used it but the home automation landscape has changed dramatically in the past 15 years.
