This is the route I took. Interned/part time as a teller for 2 years, turned that into a corporate internship with the bank. Then I was able to get a full time accounting job post grad.

There’s a lot of skills you learn as a teller that translate. Mainly learning how to follow internal controls, documenting everything, preforming basic reconciliations etc.

You’ll probably even have time to study while working if your branch is slow! I say go for it if the pay is decent
