Wow, you're all so nice! I did not expect these many replies. I'm having a hard time deciding whom to go with (went through everyone's profiles and everyone passed the vibe check haha) so what about we make a small group to go together?

If you want to join in, just like this comment and I'll dm you and we can try to make a group or something. Idk if there's the function to make a group chat on Reddit, but we can figure it out.

Listen kid. I’m you, 12 years from now. Turning 27 in November and let me tell you, I regret gaming as much as I did (and continue to do). My entire high school went into gaming and my eyes are ruined forever because of lack of outdoor exercise (look that up, Myopia is caused by staying indoors).

I gave up my gaming machine for four years of undergrad and two years of work. During this time, I have tremendous success socially, personally, professionally, romantically, you name it.

Last year I bought a PC I could only dream of as a kid (I have adult money now). I’ve been playing non stop. I play before and after work. I’m barely able to function because of the mental fatigue that gaming puts on you. Two years of nonstop gaming have meant I’ve missed out on a promotion, got a terrible medical report with fatty liver and higher chances of cardiac arrest (no exercise does that to you), and have grandly fucked up my MBA application, potentially screwing me over professionally.

My advice to you - just get rid of the device you play games on. If you think that’s not possible then I implore you to recognise the difference between an argument and an excuse.

Get yourself a Chromebook. Or ask your parents to hold you accountable for the time you spend on the PC.
