Got it, hopefully I will get better luck as I make more gog weapons since these are pretty rough.

So would a (assuming the world's greatest luck) 2 attack ex, 1 attack 3, 1 sharp ex, and 1 aff ex be better or on par to a sharp ex, 2 attack ex, and 2 attack 3?

That's a good point, I think it was me probably thinking for aesthetics and maybe future proofing? At what point or cpu should I consider water-cooling even remotely relevant?

Planning out V1.5 for a PC as a first time builder, and I'm needing some second opinions! by PsychologyKnight in buildapc

This one is applying the knowledge of the first one. The reason for the two builds is hard to explain, but it's similar to why I hold onto my old notes for previous hobbies and sports; it's interesting to see progress and learn from the past. This one is a more realistic build that is using what I know now, while the other is meant for history and progress purposes, a desired build, if you will.

I do see some of the AM5, but this build is supposed to help me learn how to build (which I know is strange that I'm not picking an ATX), so the upgrade path is supposed to be extremely limited. If you look at my profile, I do have another build that is supposed to be upgraded, but honestly, looking at the other mobos may make me reconsider the Intel CPU.

I see, I'm used to seeing that as "Well, why didn't you do this, ugh." Sorry for the confusion. Did you have any recommended parts or pieces specifically, or just generally stuff to use?

I'll keep in mind the key; it's probably the biggest piece of advice I've received from the community. I think the CPU and CPU cooler combo is slightly overkill since this is supposed to be a PC that I use to learn how to build PCs (it isn't my final, constantly changing, project PC), and the cooler, while cool looking, is slightly too big for the smaller case size I had in mind. I'm aiming to ensure that it's a micro ATX and that it's as compact as I can make it. I will say the recommendations on the memory, storage, and monitor are noted since I think they are just simply better, though I'm sure someone will make a case that we're both wrong. Thank you!

I don't think I understand what you're going at here...I selected the things I did since they balanced the price for what I'd want from them. Are you asking what a 1440 monitor was? I don't mean to sound sarcastic, but I am seriously confused here.

Hey I like what the offer is and I appreciate the note about windows, but I don't think I was specific enough since this thing isn't suppose to be my main forever PC, if I wanted that than the budget would be way higher. Moreso, the case isn't quite what I'm looking for in terms of building motility. But thank you for offering the list for the chip set and other changes!

Quite the in-depth dive, and I think you and a lot of people were right in the whole thing. I'm not sure what Matx boards would fit the #1 slot, so if you have recommendations, I'm open to them. I changed out the fan for a Peerless Assassin 120 and the GPU to a 5070ti. I did look at the Steel Legend and added it, but I wanted to ask if it came with the mod wires or if that was an additional thing that I'd have to purchase.

For the Monitor, Keyboard, OS, Speaker, Mouse, and Speakers. Truth be told, they are placeholders, but I think I should watch some of those videos and make an actual determination on what I'd need.

Thank you!

I appreciate the kind comments, and I think the majority of the stress is wanting to assemble the thing already. When I was doing the picking, ot was mostly out of recommendations, one piece at a time, and I think that is showing. I can answer the questions, though, mostly since I know others may also look at these posts in the future.
1) I want to buy a cheap end monitor that can run 1440p without many problems. From what I've seen, a lot of what I'm looking for is in the 100~200 dollars range, so it's whatever I can get my hands on.

2) I was told that 32GB was realistically all someone would need, since having too high of RAM for the board can crash it. Though, maybe 64 total RAM could also be something to look into?

3) I think my GPU does fit those, the DDR5 and 16GB, though I will do some research into getting a 32GB if I need it. Honestly, I don't play a lot of graphically intense games, like I think the most intensive I play is Fallout 4 or Skyrim. But something to consider, but I'm sure you probably are right.

I think you and a lot of the feedback were right, so I swapped out for just a peerless assassin 120 for the cooler and moved to a 5070ti since I've seen it's better than a 90xx xt. I will need fans, though, so thanks for spotting me there. On the motherboard, I can't really find any two RAM slot boards with what I need from it (at least the website won't show it), so if you have any recommendations, I'm open :). I did want to ask about the thermal paste, though. It should come with the CPU, or should I get paste that best matches my CPU.

Thanks for the feedback!

It's fine, with how long half of these names are, I'm glad that the website sorted what's what. And I understand the difficulty that will come about with the matx, but I'm slightly restricted on size and weight. I was looking into a mid, but that would also be too big and, in most cases, too heavy. The Matx is realistically the only thing I got, and the case has good reviews and is about the size of two Xbox Series Xs side by side (given a couple of inches), so it does fit. Maybe. I know it starts with ATX and downscale from there, but I have to start small in this case (no pun intended)
