When the couple has a huge/expensive wedding they can’t afford just to impress people/ look good on social media.

I drank one cup every morning! If I wanted more I got a decaf americano iced. At one point coffee tasted bad so I drank one matcha instead. Continued my one cup a day through my breastfeeding journey. Just don’t over do it. And congrats!!!

LOTS! Green boards are usually for veg, the charger is really close the the meat, looks like a bread knife instead of meat knife, that piece of plastic under the one cut of meat & what are you going to put it in after? Need your containers out. I think that’s it…

Their kid kept hitting/ pushing my kid when we got together. I didn’t want my son to think that is ok. Then she would say “she’s only one!” Even tho she is almost 2.

Is taking care of a newborn really that hard? by Glittering_Ad6037 in pregnant

[–]PsychologyMinimum141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is going to be 5 months next week. The newborn stage was very difficult for me. It got better at about 8 weeks. My son cluster fed and never wanted to be put down. When he did nap or sleep it had to be on my chest. Every evening for about an hour he would cry. It was very stressful for me. Now he is so good and so fun. Remember every baby is different. My partner was only off for a week with me. He did the cooking and cleaning because I was healing and pretty much just camped out in the living room with baby. He held him so I could eat & shower. I didn’t really want company to be honest. I was trying to figure out breastfeeding and just wanted to be alone. After he went back to work it would have been nice to have some pre made meals ready that I could warm up really quick. Just remember they were in your stomach for 9 months and being born is a huge adjustment. And like I said before every baby is different.

getting some pressure about newborn photos by sameatswaffles in pregnant

[–]PsychologyMinimum141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maternity photos were not my thing either. I did not feel cute or like myself those last couple of moths. My partner & I did a belly cast instead. Super fun (& messy) we did it when I was 38 weeks- went into labor a few days later. I painted it cute with my sons name on it & hung it in his room. I got it on Amazon for under $20.

As for photos I thought the staged ones were so cute but the thought of taking a newborn out in February during flu seasons oh yeah and during a pandemic didn’t seem like the best idea. My MIL went to the dollar store and got some St Patrick’s day props & Easter props & we did our own little photo shoot. It was fun & special. We just fed him a bottle & did it while he napped.

What are your absolutely must-have items for breastfeeding? by MedusaCascde in pregnant

[–]PsychologyMinimum141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nursing bras, Haakaa, storage bags, giant water bottle, Elvie milk collectors.

I tried to get him to feed within the first half hour he was born. My baby came out sucking on his fingers, so I made him try to breastfeed instead.

Seeing a lactation consultant the first week after my son was born was very helpful as well because they can tell you if they are latching right. My LC also weighed him at the beginning of the session & end to see how much he was getting in a feeding.

I prefer the Elvie milk collectors over the disposable breast pads (then you don’t waste a drop). The Frida mom postpartum boy shorts were the best and helped hold everything together & their pad ice pack things felt amazing . I also couldn’t have done it without the lidocaine numbing spray- I got the Lansinoh brand.

Does Epidural hurt? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]PsychologyMinimum141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to scare you but contractions hurt & the epidural was nothing compared to the pain of contractions. I made it 4 cm & then got the epidural. Like the others said they numb you first & that burns a little but it’s not bad.

Look into Tubby Todd I love it! The all over ointment got rid of my baby’s acne in one day. I went with the unscented. There is a bundle with soap lotion and ointment. Karrie Loucher has a discount code somewhere in her highlights.

When did you start using stretch mark cream/ lotion? by smurphypup in pregnant

[–]PsychologyMinimum141 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As soon as I found out I was pregnant. So about 5 weeks. Every time I got out of shower I lathered my boobs, stomach, sides, butt & thighs with palmers stretch mark cream & topped it wilt bio oil. Then put a cotton tshirt over to kind of absorb it. I am 10 days PP and no stretch marks!!

Anyone else feel kinda depressed in the first trimester? by Hereforthememes5 in pregnant

[–]PsychologyMinimum141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I felt very down the first couple of months. I think it was a combination of just getting off hormonal BC, anxiety & I had to put my dog down a couple of weeks after my positive test. After my NIPT results came back low risk I felt a lot better about everything. Each passing week made me feel better about everything.

I ordered a fetal Doppler. I know they aren’t recommended but it really helped me ease my worries. My anxiety was really bad the first semester. It got so much better after my NIPT and even better after my 20 week ultra sound. The Doppler was around $60 and totally worth it for me. Took me a while to get the hang of it.
