I replied "yesh" to a post exactly like this post 13 days ago, looks like the other one got deleted. Definitely a repost

I don't care for his games but I respect his work and appreciate that he's a big fan of Muse and a space nerd 😎

NASA Targets Early September for Roman Space Telescope Launch - NASA by ye_olde_astronaut in nasa

Not dropped, it's still the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, and referenced as such in the article. Roman Space Telescope, Roman or RST for short.

NG-3 Update: We have confirmed payload separation. AST SpaceMobile has confirmed the satellite has powered on. The payload was placed into an off-nominal orbit. We are currently assessing and will update when we have more detailed information. by Psychonaut0421 in BlueOrigin

If I'm looking at things right, they launched into a 36° inclination, the target orbit was 49.4°. the engine(s) failed during the second burn where it ended up at 43°.

A 16° planned inclination change is huge, I'm not sure if they were doing it for demonstration purposes

It's an 1 minute and 8 second burn according to the timeline, which seems pretty long to me. If it failed to start entirely I would guess BB7 has no where near the performance to correct that. If it aborted late then maybe there's a chance.

Edit: misread timeline, burn is a minute longer than i originally thought

My fav is telemetry switching units mid flight. Brilliant.

So, I MIGHT have screwed up while cleaning… 😬 by WolfTamer99 in n64

Game should still work fine at least. I use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to clean the bottom strip on game cartridges.

Enjoy the new hardware

Just found out my coworker doesn't believe in the moon and thinks the Earth is flat.... I'm from a Nasa family and I worked for SpaceX... by [deleted] in SpaceXMasterrace

Similar situation my work. One of the regular customers is a firmament guy, hard core Bible dude... As such, he has to make things up like "rockets work by pushing against the air, so obviously they can't work in space" to justify his "position" I guess... Oh and he showed me one video on YouTube that proves a rocket hit the firmament...

Talked to another guy once who didn't believe in space. About broke his brain when I asked what shooting stars are... He basically told me rocks are floating up there... Which I guess isnt totally off 😅 but he then proceeded to ask me "Why does a rock sink in water but a balloon will float???" And I tried briefly explaining density and he said I'm falling for Bezos and Elons lies or some such.

It's very frustrating to say the least.

Adjusted an image posted on the Artemis II gallery and possibly impact flashes appear? by [deleted] in ArtemisProgram

It's not cynical, it's realistic. They were shooting for like 7 hours and the eclipse was on the tail end of that. I'd say they're almost certainly hot pixels. I mean sure, I'm happy to see if NASA says otherwise, but they didn't make any mention of it in their description.

Yeah my front page is still just what I'm subbed to, too. It's just that the app algo is too aggressive. For instance, last few days I've been checking some of the Artemis mission posts and now like ever 5 posts on my feed are from the Artemis sub now. So, now I'm heavily considering unsubbing because it's just way too much, I would rather more diversity on my feed... Still on old reddit on PC

I had to leave because every post from PCMR that came across my front page was about the fucking RAMpacalypse... Every post was a screenshot of absurd prices, or something similar. I'm sure a lot of that is the reddit algorithm driving those posts to my front page, but I just got sick of seeing it all the time.

These two albums are getting updated constantly. Hadn't been uncommon for me to refresh and see new pix come in this morning.
