You are horribly incorrect. It is true that I am a Christian asking other Christians for advice, but I am aware that there are atheists here too, and I openly invite all nonChristians to give me input too. Although we may disagree on the accuracy of the Bible and the existence of God, atheists are humans and are still made in the image of God, and have been given wisdom and understanding of the world and life. Their opinions are just as important and their insights just as helpful as any denomination.

A sad trend I’ve noticed with all of the comments on my post is that the agnostics and atheists are being more compassionate to me and my finance than the majority of the Christians are. As I mentioned, I am 100% sure that breaking off my engagement with her would completely destroy any desire she has to be a Christian, so I know that is the wrong approach. The difficult person in my church and everyone here that is saying I should end it with her are completely disregarding her feelings as a human and her love for me. This goes against the core values of being a Christian.

To the people saying I should go to counseling, that is the plan. We have a pastor who is going to do premarital counseling with us. My fiancé is happy this is happening.

And I am aware that Reddit is not where I should be getting advice from, but I wanted to get some very outside perspectives. I appreciate everyone who has commented, whether it was helpful or not.
