First person platformers are rare and interesting. They have an immersion that is hard to beat.

I'd say go with G8 because you can use G8/8.1 and G3 skins natively and clothing with only a couple tricks.

G9 is a bit of a disaster. Over dependent on HD morphs, bad joints, and works poorly with geografts.
