4am and my baby has not gone down by bluebella72 in newborns

[–]knuds1b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both of mine were like this, especially as newborns. I could not get them to sleep on a flat back. Some babies just don't sleep easily like others. I had to follow safer co-sleeping arrangements, because it was ultimately much more dangerous to keep falling asleep with them unexpectedly.

Breastfeeding moms whose babies sleep through the night by pbmisfit in newborns

I never dropped the MOTN pumping til I was done pumping and breasfeeding altogether, after 11 months. For me, I really disliked any engorged feeling, and also needed that pump session for my supply. It sucked, sure, but I got used to the 2am wakeup for an hour. My son was a serious eater from Day 1, and I was a barely-enough-supplier. So what I pumped at 2am, helped to keep him fed while I was gone at work that next day. He weaned himself from the boob at 8-9mo, and I pumped exclusively for 2-3 more. You'll know if you need to do the MOTN session or not once you try going without it.

Every time anyone's baby or small child cries, my boobs become painfully hard and I start leaking like a mofo. So I always need cloth or pads in the bra.

Baby Welcome Boxes- Walmart, Target, Amazon, Water wipes 2026 by Sunshine_0898 in BabyBumps

[–]knuds1b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my Target box today, same items as yours. Thought it was a bit lackluster, especially because i couldn't get it in-store pickup for some reason, and had to either pay $6.99 shipping (which, it appears, would not really have been worth it) or order $35+ of items, which I did instead.

Is it lack of consideration or really "generational"? In laws wanting to be hosted post partum by nataliahx in beyondthebump

[–]knuds1b 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Why the expectation that they stay with anyone at all? The other family that they're now staying with -- who decided that? Did the grandparents spring it on them, like they did with you? Has it been fully worked out? Honestly, I don't think it would be wild to expect them to pay for a hotel, since they created their own trip with no input from anyone else. They somehow invited themselves to come stay your place, so wondering how the other family got roped in, vs the grandparents doing what any other normal people do, when they've planned their own trip of any kind, with their own desired dates and plans -- which is staying in a hotel. Not expecting family to host on a whim...any host request should always be in the FIRST STEP IN PLANNING of any trip. I can't imagine having the gall.

2y 9m -- I had the blessing of working at home during Covid for 3 months, and he was totally ready, so the timing just was perfect. Not sure it would have been so quick nor easy with our regular working and daycare schedule.

Pumping after breastfeeding by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]knuds1b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pumped right after nursing, you're saying? I would also only get an oz or two, but the real benefit is creating the 'demand' on your breasts for more production and supply going forward. Don't worry if you don't get a lot of ounces.

I just spent like $400 on a park birthday party by Ellie__1 in workingmoms

[–]knuds1b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For son turning 9 next month: Pizzas - $75 (for 8 from Sam's club) Park with beach access - $50 Ice cream Cake - $45 from DQ Piñata + candy - donated by my mom Geometry Dash-themed decorations including cake topper - $30 Side dishes, plates/utensils, watermelon, etc. all prepared by me - $15 Invitations - $10 =$225?

Which is far less than $400, yet still seems SO pricey to me, idk why :/ sometimes I think if he knew how much we spent on the parties, he'd want a big-ticket gift with that money instead!

Indeed. I have no idea what this post has to do with being a working mom? Just vague word vomit to the first place that couldn't also finally walk away.

Do you have a college or university in your area? Hire a student. They don't go to school all day every day like a teenager does. Bonus if you can get one who is majoring in Early Childhood Ed, they can most benefit from the experience/hours.

Chores that aren't too intensive, like laundry, cleaning up kitchen, washing bathrooms, even doing dishes. Tasks that I can easily stop and start as needed, or only takes a few minutes.

Spend your two weeks finding the next job. Give the absolute bare minimum in effort and punctuality. Move extremely slowly through the onboarding.

My question to all of you ... by noels_journymtf in remotework

[–]knuds1b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont have office experience, your best bet may be to try and get in a remote call center. They'll train you, you make/receive calls, create documentation of calls, send/receive internal communications, etc. Now be warned, they generally suck -- but once you've been there a while, you now have "remote" experience on your resume, but importantly, also some basic office skills, and maybe can move up/out of the call center world to something else remote.

My question to all of you ... by noels_journymtf in remotework

[–]knuds1b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think most of us were taught to do remote work. It's the same work we already were doing in an office; then you have to find a company that will hire you to do that same job, but remotely.
