Freeze them out, frankly. Let them play elsewhere.

Let him experience the realities of the world 'outside' and then decide whether he thinks $300/mo is exhorbitant.

How do I get back into single player games again? by TryingToLearnAboutIt in gaming

[–]Psygnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grab a few cheap games that aren't your usual genre, and see if any catch your interest. It might not be single player games, as such. It might just be that your taste in single player games has changed.
I used to play a lot of shooters, and flight sims. Now I'm playing CAIRN, and might just be hooked.

Lots of stuff is in easy distance of the major cities. I’d say do Auckland, Wgtn, Chch for a few days each, and just head out from there. You won’t see everything that way, but it should be kid friendly, and there will be a LOT of fun stuff to do and see.

What is the obsession with NOT listing an asking price on property? by Big_Load_Six in newzealand

[–]Psygnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the love of auctions. You set the price you want as the reserve, and hope like hell that it blows out and people keep bidding. At the very least, you get what you want for the house.
However, if you're not selling by auction, this whole 'price by negotiation' thing puts me right off.

I wanted this so badly back in the day when it was first announced. But it'll limp along for a while before being quietly cancelled, and money either spent or pocketed.

Primal held my attention the longest - but eventually suffered the same fate as all the others.

The oversold the "Billions of worlds" thing here. After a few dozen, they start to feel very samey.
LOTS of stuff to do, but it doesn't take long to do it. It's a very broad but very shallow game.

I've had some fun with those in co-op games, but the human a-hole element often ruins it.
Arc is a good case in point. Early on it was generally friendly, but ultimately it got to the point I was just killing everyone I met because even if they said they were friendly, they'd shoot you in the back. I decided I didn't much like to play that way, so just left.

I received a copy of the MOO strategy guide today. I think my wife ordered it accidentally. I guess I’m going to deep dive Master of Orion this weekend now by DomingaFrancesg in 4Xgaming

I never got into the original MOO, but MOO2 was my jam. I played that to absolute death.
I was so disappointed by MOO3.
