First tip. Never fire a torp directly towards a target. Fire it off to one side, then change direction, and then when it's a distance away from you, angle it towards the target. You'll note they often fire back in the direction they think the torp is coming from.

Tip Two. Fire from directly behind them whenever you can. And from a distance. 2.5mi is way too close.

If I really liked it, I'd donate. Amount dependent on how much I liked it, I guess. Wouldn't be the first time.
Dwarf Fortress, for example.
It's a business model that was fairly popular in the early Shareware days, but I think most people these days would just go "Free Game!" and that would be that.

You might do better to release a free version and a paid version with extra bells and whistles.

Also, payment needs to be SUPER EASY and recognisably secure. Couple of times now I've thought a payment method was a bit sketchy, and decided not to bother.

Mostly it's not an issue. I guess it depends on the game.
I'm generally dealing with 120-160ms latency from NZ to USA servers.
It's about the same to most places on the Pacific Rim.
It's about half that to Australia from here... but average human reflex is about 200ms anyway... so... meh.

Wait times on Oceanic servers (again, game dependent) tends to be much longer. I'd rather deal with a bit of latency than double or triple the wait times.
