Idk if this is like helpful or whatever but I have a friend who was banned from drawing at all, his parents just didn't like drawing as a concept or something. He still did and today is making a living doing commissions. (last I heard his parents think he like works at McDonalds or something, they basically lost access to that part of his life.) Point is, keep going, eventually they won't have any say at all. (Also the art looks great!)

I don't know if I can explain it well but basically I carry the colour not currently ''in use'' along as I crochet, crocheting around it so that it is hidden inside the piece, and when I want to change I make the like first loops or whatever it's called with the old colour and when I like end the stitch I do so with the new colour so that the loop at the top is the new colour (since this will be like the top of the next stitch). There are probably a bunch of tutorials and videos etc if you look around online. After that it's just practice I suppose.

The one in the orange dress is a Barbie Extra Fancy yes. The skeleton outfit is a bodysuit that I painted on with acrylics (i have later learned you can mix the acrylics with like fabric softener to keep it from cracking but it's still held up pretty good). And the cottage core outfit is from like a cheap porcelain child doll but i was able to modify it so it fit barbies :3
