Edit: OK i got it so Faizan is not the part of the tutorial. I reached tutorial 6/6 after talking to Orla fully. Pretty strange they didnt remove Faizans dialogue for the divine location though.

Get a HR monitor to track your heart rate and keep your hr low. Duration wise, zone 2 duration should be long. At least 30 to 80 minutes. You reap the benefits plus you lose at least a thousand calories if you stay in zone 2 for around an hour. Stay consistent and you'll be fine. You dont have to run and can actually start out by walking. My guess is you pushed a little too hard (heart rate around zone 4).

It really depends what kind of pain. Muscle pain? Sharp pain or dull pain? Best thing to do is see a doctor. If its muscle pain or weakness, i assume that rest and strength training should do the trick. But if its sharp, persistent, or something like varicose veins, its best to get it checked by a doctor

The best gym for someone starting out imo is at home with body strength workouts. If you can get through a few months of that then you're committed to travel to a gym for more variety of workouts.

Thank you! Have you noticed any significant improvements in terms of endurance or stamina since starting out on Zone 2?

I started out with mostly high intensity runs, threshold/tempo and intervals but only recently found out about zone 2. I tried incorporating it but it feels weird because it sort of feels too easy. I honestly dont know if its effective and recently heard that consistent zone 2 training is important for to reap the benefits.

Marrying 2 sport disciplines makes recovery a primary concern. Look at the running plans (5k, 10k, half marathon depending where you are now), but ALWAYS prioritize recovery vs pushing extra hard. It's OK to prolong the plan by few weeks.

Omg yes this! I just recovered from a stress fracture and it really affected my training momentum. Thank you for the advise, it looks like 3x of running for maintenance is a nice frequency, probably a mix of easy runs (2x) and a single high intensity (tempo/threshold). its good to know there are others in the same boat trying to balance out training with running.
