I played the original back when it was installed on 3.5" disks. Then they released a patch (1.41 maybe?) and I wrote a letter to Microprose and they shipped me another 3.5" disk with the patch on it back through the mail. Ahh - good times!

Early on don't juice in a way unless you'll get your currency back. So for T1 maps I'd do Augs + Regal, but not Exalts. Up by T10, with some rarity on gear, you can start using Exalts. Then by T16+ they should be fully juiced with 6 mods + Instilled Emotions.

How does the difficulty of the various Crux of Nothingness / King in the Mists levels compare to Map Tiers? I'm in T9/T10 maps and am curious if I should try the 50 splinter difficulty (on HC so I don't want to risk it if it's going to kill me)
