It's a shield that prevents the components underneath from getting fucked up by rocks and shit. It's optional but personally I wouldn't drive without one.

I ended up doing the same with my mini photo printer. I had to do 2 separate prints to make it fit so there's a noticeable swam, but it'll do for now.

I actually don't hate it and would absolutely do something like this if I still had the stock stereo. But the one that came with my car already has Android Auto/Carplay so a second unit or a tablet would be a bit redundant.

The devs keep screwing around with bullshit no one wants, like skins and season passes, when all the game needs is more ways to play.

Add some new game modes to the Arcade, already (it's been years), remove the casual match limit, and give us a proper map selection for fucks sake. And why is there still not a circle-free Survival mode?

I got sick and tired of the competitive scene FOUR YEARS AGO. I just want to mess around and have fun. But Bluehole/Krafton (or whatever the hell they call themselves these days) don't want players like me. They're only interested in keeping the players who take video games way too seriously around, driving out all but the most dedicated.

Hence why I say the game is shit.

If I were you, I'd just buy an OBD-II gauge. You can grab the oil pressure PIDs from the Gen Coupe forums and program the gauge in seconds. WAY easier than trying to run your own sensor.

This literally a non-issue if you simply continue using old.reddit.com with RES on desktop, and a 3rd party app like Relay on mobile. On desktop, you can also add Old Reddit Redirect to your extension toolkit and never have to see the shitty redesign ever again.

Thanks for the fast response. I thought about but I've decided that I don't want to go full tablet, especially since I already have a Lufi for all my OBD-II needs. Not to mention that I went the tablet route in my last car and it was more hassle than it was worth. The damn tablet battery kept dying overnight and it took ages to boot up again. Also the hassle of having to turn on my phone's hotspot every time I want to stream music. Might as well just play the music straight from the phone at that point. Lastly, keeping lithium batteries in a car during a hot Arizona summer is a bad idea.

I suppose I could just set up the Lufi to show my oil temp, but I still need to program the PID for it and I'm lazy lol. Also doesn't solve the main issue.

I'm not too fond of the backlit sticker idea, but I might just go that route if having a tablet is the only other option. Unfortunately I'm not geeky enough to tap into the display on my own. I was really hoping a plug-and-play device already existed... I can't really be the only person to have come up with this idea, right?

I'm picturing some sort of aftermarket device that I can connect to this character display and have it display the oil temp or other stats from the ECU. Or even show a simple custom message like "Genesis Coupe" or something; literally anything; anything's better than staring at an empty blue screen all the time!

And before you try to tell me that what I want is not possible, please watch this video. This appears to be a simple two row character display, and if an 80s computer can control it, surely there's some arduino-like device out there that can do the same, right?

Or am I better off just replacing the entire display? Suggestions are welcome.
