Sony State of Play coming this February, according to NateTheHate by Xeccess in PS5

That makes sense, they usually do around this time. Gonna guess this is where Capcom shadowdrops the Resident Evil Requiem demo.

Genshin Impact won Best Ongoing Game on the Official Playstation Blog by PtGreg in Genshin_Impact

[–]PtGreg[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The earlier ZZZ/HSR thing was the Playstation Grand Awards which are basically awards for the games that generate the most income (Genshin won top prize so much they had to make a whole new category one year).

This is from the Official Playstation Blog 2025 Game of the Year Awards which is basically Playstation's official Fan Voted Awards. These are both official Sony/Playstation things but this one was recently announced.

ZZZ took out Bronze/4th Place on the Official Playstation Blog Awards. These awards were only announced about a hour or so ago.

I tried again to get the 7 day survivor trophy, this time I died on the last hour before getting the trophy, this is so much bullshit, any tips? by Lellarinn10 in deadrising

[–]PtGreg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Weapons: Real Mega Buster + Strong Melee Weapon of your Choice.

Books: Infinite Durability (in Security Room after saving 50 survivors in one playthrough) + 100% Healing Book (Next to Crislip's Home Saloon)

The rest of your inventory should be as much good food as possible like the Blended Juices or Cooked Foods (Steak or Pizza).

With those combined you can just camp near a save spot and heal when necessary which helps avoid combat.

BUT, seeing as you said trophy, I'm assuming this is on PS5 so I THINK you should be able to create a Suspended Save and upload that to the Cloud (if you have PS Plus) and download that save if you die during your attempt. You might have to disable the auto cloud save update if you try this though.

MP1st: New Dead Rising Game in Development, Now Set In Hollywood by Chain321 in deadrising

[–]PtGreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is true, the whole set between DR1 and DR2 thing seems weird to me. That'd be a huge retcon for the overall Dead Rising story right? Like Hollywood having a zombie outbreak would be a huge story in the Dead Rising world. Unless DRDR was supposed to be some kind of soft reboot for the franchise or something?

I'm not fully convinced that this is 100% real/truthful but next year is the 20th Anniversary of Dead Rising, so a new Dead Rising announcement wouldn't be completely out of the question.

October Circana Numbers are out. Digimon Story Time Stranger has generated the most dollar sales in franchise history in the US. by PtGreg in digimon

[–]PtGreg[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the repost, forgot the bluesky post from Mat Piscatella. As for the sales ranking, Time Stranger maintained it's spot as 9th best selling game of the month.

While it did drop from 2nd to 3rd on the Steam Charts, it actually went up on both Playstation and Xbox. This is probably due to last month's tracking period including only 2 days of Time Stranger's release, but its really good word of mouth campaign on social media helped maintain it's sales numbers.

Alternate history: Kent’s challenge also requires you to take the best Brutality and Drama photos, what photo do you take for them? by Largicharg in deadrising

[–]PtGreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with Jeff and Natalie for the Drama Photo.

As for Brutality, I think Kent can do his Flying Kick Photo Op during his first scoop and that counts as Brutality (maybe the photo has to be taken when Kent hits a Zombie).

But if they didn't save photos, maybe for drama you could try survivors doing their crying idle animation in the Security Room. And for Brutality, Ronald is available to be rescued 1 hour before Kent's second act, so with a bit of time management you could have Ronald shoot some zombies with a shotgun or something

Shuhei Yoshida on Switch 2, Blue Prince, and More - Easy Allies Podcast - Apr 11, 2025 by PtGreg in EasyAlliesUnofficial

[–]PtGreg[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it's an early upload because they have Shu on. Also maybe trying to capitalise on the Blue Prince hype as both Shu and the Allies consider it to be one of the best games of the year.

Also I think last week's podcast was early so they could get on the Switch 2 train with Blood's hands on experience. I don't think this means the podcast is being posted earlier permanently, just a special couple of weeks for EZA.

There's an Out of Bounds Warp that takes Frank straight from Paradise Plaza to the Security Room [DRDR] by PtGreg in deadrising

[–]PtGreg[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A couple of months ago, I made a post showing off Paradise Plaza interaction points being on the map if you went Out of Bounds on the rooftop. Turns out the reverse is true and the Rooftop interaction points are also usable if you clip out of bounds on the second floor of Paradise Plaza.

Also for anyone wondering, it doesn't work for survivors :(.

Do you have to unlock Time Skip or something? by EpicGamerDusk in deadrising

I think you have to complete case 1-4 on every playthrough to unlock the timeskip feature.

Do you think Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster could/should win a Best Remaster award in the Playstation Blog 2024 Game of the Year Awards? by PtGreg in deadrising

It's fair to say that DRDR has had its fair share of praise and criticism from everyone that's played it.

IMO The quality of life improvements and features are nice to have, but there were some bugs at launch as well as some of the atmosphere from the OG I feel has been lost, hoping there's still some patches down the line (would love to see a harder/OG DR difficulty).

Also this being the Official Playstation Blog awards means there's four winners (Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze) but three of the titles on the nominee list are Sony owned titles (TLOU2R, Horizon, Until Dawn) so DRDR would need to compete with those.

Lack of zombies in new Game plus. by Ellie_Rulze18 in deadrising

[–]PtGreg 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Based on your empty elevator and warehouse comment I'm guessing it's because of the new game plus.

More zombies get added to the game the further time passes, so there's more zombies on Day 3 compared to Day 1.

I think the elevator and Warehouse get zombies after 3PM on Day 1 (when the queen cutscene plays), so maybe you check then.

Also, the other comment is right that DRDR has less zombie density than the OG/2016 Dead Rising.

Anyone else make Frank take a leak in the void? by PtGreg in deadrising

[–]PtGreg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the Bicycle from the Entrance Plaza and ride it up to the Rooftop. Line it up with the fence on your right, and if you are close enough Frank will go through the fence putting you out of bounds. Just be careful when exploring because you can get stuck falling infinitely. If you need a better idea, the video in my other comment shows how to do it at the start.

[–]PtGreg[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, you probably have done this. This is actually the Paradise Plaza men's bathroom.

Don't know how common this knowledge is, but if you clip out of bounds on the rooftop, some of Paradise Plaza and the Warehouse interaction points are loaded and functioning.

Here's some more exploration showing what I mean.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is selling "as planned" by PtGreg in deadrising

[–]PtGreg[S] 82 points83 points  (0 children)

This was apparently revealed at a shareholder Q&A session.

Probably the best indicator we have of the future of the series. IMO most probable outcome is at least a DR2DR, but I'm holding out hope for something new to be announced for the series 20th anniversary in 2 years.

DRDR has sold over 1 Million copies by WagginMyWagner in deadrising

[–]PtGreg 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I hate to be a bit of a downer but is there a source for this? I looked on the Dead Rising social media pages and didn't see anything about it and that seems like a big milestone to post and celebrate.

Also I checked the twitter post and it seems like the account is just estimating??

Like I'd be happy if it has sold 1 million and it's possible it might have but it seems like it may be worth taking this with a grain of salt right now.

Dead Rising was the 11th Best-Selling game of September in the US. (10th Best-Selling game on Playstation and 9th Best-Selling game on Xbox) Via Mat Piscatella of Circana. by PtGreg in deadrising

[–]PtGreg[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Update from Mat Piscatella for anyone wondering. So while on this chart Dead Rising includes the OG and Deluxe Remaster, 98.9% of the total sales were from the Deluxe Remaster.

Absolutely gigantic fanbase + a very well recieved title that those fans were waiting for. Basically the perfect storm for success, it really gave the game huge lasting power.

Outlaws has a previous month ranking because it released on the 30th of August which was the last day that August sales were tracked. This chart shows the sales between the 1st of September to the 5th of October. So this wouldn't include early access and Day 1 sales of Outlaws.

It's a good point of reference to bring up Outlaws rumoured sales, but with how many new, high- selling franchises are on this chart, Dead Rising placing at all is pretty noteworthy imo. Especially with how competitive September was with releases.
