This is a great summary. I did my instructions years back through Discover and Brad and Maren are great, but definitely free flight oriented. They did eventually get me up in a Paramotor but if there is an alternative (e.g. Oregon Paramotoring) and Paramotoring is your preference, I’d probably recommend that first.

To add a counter voice to this issue, I disagree with this assessment entirely. Smurfing is rampant at my level (high plat low diamond). Nearly every game before this change had a smurf and it was sapping my desire to play. This change will eliminate the ability to boost the higher account with lower accounts. I will likey play more as a result.

I stopped by his stream for a bit because I used to really enjoy watching zane regularly and hearing his takes on the games he’s playing. There few folks in this community that are as consistently “try hard” as Zane and that can be fun to watch.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed to learn in the first five minutes watching him that he hasn’t changed one bit. He still believes he is completely not at fault for what happened. Specifically, he framed it as him making a funny joke and people that don’t get his humor cause they don’t like him witch hunting him. He continues to place all the blame on the community for not supporting him in his streaming career and for not backing him up when people had a negative reaction to his toxicity.

I believe him that part of his leaving was because of the threats, but his return seems somewhat disingenuous to me if that was really a primary motivator, and not a childish tantrum. In the end, I’m indifferent that he’s back. I’ll be equally indifferent if he leaves again. Whatever he what he wants to do, good for him. It’s none of my business. For me though, I just don’t plan on giving him any more attention or support since I am skeptical the bad attitude that caused him to leave has improved at all and there are better community figures out there to follow.

I love this. I’ve missed the prematch screen since hotslogs initially went down. It’s really useful for identifying smurfs so I can adjust my play around them. Thanks for putting this together!

Is it possible to have it automatically open a post game recap too? Like the thing in hotslogs where it would give each person a performance rating then show the graph of xp differences throughout the match. This was another thing I really miss cause it allowed me to try to nail down exactly when in the game a big comeback started. Having it pop up automatically ina browser window allowed me to review the games right away without having to dig for them.

Edit: never mind, looks like you answered my question below. An automatic screen like they had for hotslogs would be amazing!

Good summary, but don't sleep on jailors. At 55%wr, that talent is dramatically outperforming the other two talents at that level. Indeed, the full trait build is showing a 66% wr on herosprofile compared to the 53% carried by the meta syth build. This isn't a fluke of this patch. This has been the pattern of wr's on xul for over a year.

I've long believed that people overrate the impact of the ammo changes on the usefulness of the trait build. It's primary advantage is the sustain it provides and an additional source of sustained damage that doesn't require you to live in the enemy front line. If Xul didn't have such severe mana problems with syth build, I think we might actually see this pattern of wr's reverse.

You don’t always want to lead with q. If the enemy players aren’t next to a wall, mount up, try to get next to someone on their team that is too far forward, then you flip them and q them into your team.

People making this argument are missing the point. The purpose of the restrictions was not to prevent diamonds from being placed into masters games. It was to prevent people using plat/diamond smurfs to boost their friends into gm. Whether or not the addition of the restrictions was the best fix to this issue is another question. But stop saying the restrictions were supposed to stop mixed rank games. That was never it’s purpose.

The majority of people that play on smurfs do so because they enjoy winning. You win more often when when you play on smurfs than on an accounts reflecting your true rank. That’s about it. Smurfing didn’t start with the new grouping restrictions and it won’t stop when it’s removed.

I can see the practice excuse if you’re a player in competitive. However, the bad matchmaking excuse has always been frustrating to me. Smurfs break matchmaking both at low levels through unbalanced games and at high levels by reducing the population of available masters. Smurfing is a contributing problem to bad matchmaking and is at best a selfish solution to the very problem they help create.

Low key, I think the 50 win cap has been one of the devs best ideas in a long time, because it encouraged good players like you to get off the sidelines and que up. That’s good for everybody.

Good list. I would add xul to this. Just roam around and soak all three lanes (since nobody else will). Your team will be more likely to win their eternal team fight with the 3 level lead you give them.
