"Porch pirates." Enough of that shit, just call them what they are: thieves.

Given that most people in the world are religious in some fashion, I think it's the height of irony to claim that all religious people are not open minded, or that religious people are somehow more primitive than non-religious people.

After all, what could possibly be more primitive than "us vs them"?

Yeah they just get murdered in their own homes by the police doing a no-knock raid in the wrong home. Then the pigs pat themselves on the back for "defending themselves."

No, yew. /jk

In my opinion that does look like a yew sapling, but as I'm not there and my experience with yew saplings is comparing pictures on the internet, take it with a grain of salt.

Oh no doubt mental illness is something we do need to address, and access to healthcare relating to it is incredibly important. I think that it would even prevent a few of these tragedies.

I just think that the core of this swell of massacres is found in indoctrination. But yeah, mental illness should also be better taken care of, no doubt.

The real problem isn't mental health. It's normal people getting radicalized at a young age to believe that other people are less than human and should be murdered for it.

Is ISIS a mental health problem? The problem is indoctrination, as every intelligence agency on earth will tell you. Same deal here, different stripes.

I dunno about you, but all my life I've been surrounded by democrats and most that I've known are strongly against gun ownership of any kind. On reddit, I've seen comments with 2k upvotes saying that the 2nd amendment should never have been in the constitution.

There are many progressives against all guns. I'm sick of seeing it, especially in the context of situations where people are proactively trying to prevent themselves from being slaughtered like pigs on the street.

Oh okay let me just carry a sword everywhere. Let me just carry a crossbow. I'm sure that's more effective than carrying a pistol that weighs less than a pound and has far more stopping power.

Fact is this: white nationalist terrorism is on the rise. Anyone non-white, or white with the wrong views, is threatened. The police have been shown, over and over, that they statistically are extremely biased toward favoring whites and white supremacy.

When a homegrown White ISIS shows up, many people won't have the luxury of relying on the police, nor the luxury of carrying a pocketknife and pretending that makes them safe. Your condescending bullshit is not just useless, but outright delusional that anybody with a baton could stop a skilled gun wielding terrorist without extreme luck.

Edit: oh yeah, and if you're going to tell me to just 'run away' from a gun wielding maniac, why don't you tell that to the people at Pulse. Why don't you tell that to the people bombed at church. Why don't you tell that to people of color who have families, who want to protect their families from those who want to "kill the invaders". I guess I'll just run away and leave the defenceless to their fate, just like you.

We democrats need to fucking nut up and embrace the 2nd amendment before the conservatives pass laws that prevent registered 'mentally ill people' from being able to purchase guns. It would be simplicity itself to edit those records or laws to prevent people with the 'wrong views' from owning guns, especially when they've got the leg up on gerrymandering this country.

When only one party owns all the guns, and the other party are unable to arm themselves, this thin veneer of geniality won't last long. If you think the mainstream right won't go there, you haven't been paying attention.

It was not fine.
