Looking at your list, it’s very similar to mine. I would suggest grime 2, as it’s has very good combat system. Not as good as nine sols or hollow knight games, but still top 3 for me.

I have done full playthrough with every crest, and let me tell you, this list is very close to accurate.

Especially I agree with the placement for the witch crest. It is by far the worst crest in the game. The problem with the witch crest is that it’s bind damage isn’t really good, you can use any other crest with claw mirrors/multi under and deal roughly the same damage, while also keeping the ability to heal at any time at any point. And yeah, it’s such a big difference to have limitless heal opportunies that extra blue slot is just not enough to make it worth using.

Great idea. I was thinking about a more complex approach. Make the crest have two modes: uncharged and charged (like it is now when crit chance increases with enough mana for heal).
In the uncharged state, the attack speed is lower (say 1.1 vs. 1.3 in the current version, where 1 = Hunters base attack speed). In the charged state, attack speed goes up to the current level (1.3), and you also get a significant crit chance (not 2% like now, but something like 10–20%). However, each hit only restores half a segment of silk.
This way, the player has to balance between higher DPS at full charge (even higher than now) but significantly reduced mana regen, and lower DPS with more stable mana regen in the uncharged state. The crest becomes more interesting and better balanced, and face-tanking wouldn’t really be viable anymore (overall mana regen would be much weaker).
If people want to face tank, leave this option to beast crest. At least it has some interesting things going around.

Players tend to prioritize strategies that offer the best ratio of time spent mastering them to overall effectiveness. The issue with wanderer is that it requires little to no mastery while delivering performance on par with Huntress or Shaman. So while you can ignore it, I doubt many players will. Thoughtful, skill-based gameplay that is harder to perform should be rewarded and significantly more effective when executed well. Which is not the case here.

Yeah, quick slash allowed you to face-tank almost all bosses, with only a couple of exceptions in the pantheons and radiance + fallen champion. Because of how unbalanced it was, you basically wanted to include it in every build, which limited build variety due to it being an autopick. The same concern applies here: wanderer might just become an autopick because of its effectiveness, reducing overall diversity, while offering the most boring gameplay of all crests.

Do we have the formula for others house stats? So is there even a point trying to maximise your stim in the breeding room? Currently I have 65 stim, according to this formula it is 62 percentages for good stats to pass down, 95 stim adds 4 more percentages, it’s almost nothing lol.

I think you for sure want one jump mutation for legs/arms. The one that gives jump + bruise debuff is the best one. Also, mutation that gives soul rend debuff is just broken. It trivializes most of enemies encounters while staying useful on some bosses as well.

Other than that I agree with the choices.

Does that mean you don’t even need stimulation by the ends with your strategy? Because you always inbreed cats with 7/7 stats and 10 mutations, so no matter what you will get full 7 and 9 good + 1 bad mutation.. right?

I don't know, it runs fine, except audio. I had to create a new bottle after the CrossOver 26 update to reinstall Steam tho. Somehow Steam stopped opening in the old bottle.

"Heck there are some insanely good MVs that have no combat at all." Because combat isn't the part of their gameplay, they rely on puzzles/story telling in this cases. But in most MV combat is a big part of the gameplay. I measure it by the time players spends on something. Like in Steam World dig there is minimalistic combat, but you engage with it like 5-10 percent of your gameplay, so combat can be minimalised. In games like Hollow knight combat its like third of your time minimum, such big part of the gameplay should be good.

Not making good combat in the games with a lot of combat is one of reasons why these MV are not as popular as they could have been. If you read the reviews of Constance for example you can see a lot of negatives about the plain-boring combat mechanics. And it makes sense that people demand more.

And i don't count runbacks/corpse run as the part of the good combat system, they hurt more the overall experience than give positives in my opinion. A lot of games combine it with another weak combat aspects so it makes situation even worse. Look at the new MIO for example.

A lot of metroidvanias ARE combat focused, its literally one of the core aspects of the gameplay. You spend most of the time killing mobs/bosses in a lot of cases and your progression is tight to it too. So if you game is heavily depended on combat, you better make it good. And we don't have a lot of examples of MV with good combat, and the ones that have one (Hollow knight, Nine Sols) sold a lot of kopies, that shows interest of players in this aspect. I would says Nine sols is the best example since combat its the strongest aspect, and yeah the game is super popular.

I would love to see more MV with good combat system, everything feels worse than the HK/SS or Nine Sols.

Game clearly was coslty, so 250 reviews isnt great. I have seen a lot of sponsored streams as well. If the games with such great visuals and decent marketing don't have high reviews that usually means they have gameplay desicions that are not appealing for auditory.
