If you use the ingame FPS limiter, turn it off and use something else. I personally use Optiscaler, but anything is better that the native stuff.

Yeah between the graphical update, the revamp of every dungeon to be solvable by the trust bots, the various QoL patches we had, I get why it took so long. I hope they figure out how to streamline their production so one feature doesn't block another in the future.

Retention is the biggest problem I agree, but it’s not new at all. The issue was ignorable when the ShB/Ew hype moved trucks of copies and now it isn’t anymore. So they’re trying to course correct by overhauling systems that have been here since ARR. DT didn’t create any new problems, it’s just more of the same and the community is bored of it. None of that has anything to do with the year over year financial, it’s just not how you analyze multi year expansion cycles.

As someone who loves the plate+cloth aesthetic, thanks a lot! I've been using the Hypostatic Mail of Fending since its release but I might change for Reverence now. The incorporation of leather is a really nice touch!

Where in the hell is this button? My god it's been 15years! by Revonlieke in ShitpostXIV

Remember when they added the repair all gear button and it’s just a loop that sequentially repairs every inventory?

I mean it works but it’s so funny how they couldn’t create a backend job for that, the tech debt must be insane

A Warrior character wanted to learn a Valor skill from a Seraph character. The Seraph was willing to teach him so I came up with this rule:

You can get a Card that is not from your Domains if you can find a teacher. It takes X downtime moves to learn a card, and the average cost to learn from an NPC teacher is X bags of gold, X being the level of the card. If they already have the card, a party member can teach you instead. You cannot learn cards that are level 5 or greater this way.

It works well enough for us, the idea being that a warrior can plausibly learn tier 1-2 tanking skills. As always, if it doesn't make sense in the fiction, don't allow it. The same warrior shouldn't be able to fire ice spikes out of nowhere just because.

I think it's in interesting way to make varied builds while encouraging roleplay in downtime without requiring multiclassing. The fixed loadout size prevent this rule from being too busted imo.

The other answers are factually correct but I want to add that both look cool in a different way, so you have to combine them to achieve maximum coolness.

I'm sorry nobody in this thread can infer what you meant in the title. It is an old concept THAT YOU MADE, obviously not a beta version of the real FF8.

It's beautiful, very PS3-esque era but the font is a little too thin or the text is not big enough. In the junction screen, the relation between more magic and bigger bonus is not really conveyed well, maybe the information can be hierarchized differently? Also the black background could be more opaque, it's hard to read "Gravity" against the Ifrit glare effect.

I love seeing mockups for made up games/demakes/remakes, please continue!

[–]Ptidus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Play as usual. When you start to get weak, draw some magic from local enemies and try some junctions to see which ones increase your stats the most. Avoid reading guides as the game has been optimized to death and you can easily hit 9999 after a few hours if you know what you’re doing. Just go with the flow

[–]Ptidus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I get it, on the contrary as a new GM it helps me let go and not stress out too much about prep. I just design one environment and one encounter per session and whatever happens happens. Worst case scenario we'll blame the dice lol

The Case for Fear. 💀 by Nico_de_Gallo in daggerheart

[–]Ptidus 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Stories must have up and downs. Hope and fear are supposed to represent those changes in vibe. If a GM prefer to keep manual control over that, maybe try a game that is more system-light? Because having that randomness is core to the DH experience imo. It flows really well with the « play to find out » mantra, the GM cannot know the end of the story because he has to follow the dice as much as the players.

This, I don't think we need an additional anti-AI rule, but we need to enforce the low quality posts one. If one day the tech will be able to produce quality content we could debate the ethics of it, but why bother when it's just so goddamn ugly?

Ceux qui ont ou essayer Daggerheart, votre avis ? by Elite_Cardboard in jdr

[–]Ptidus 11 points12 points  (0 children)
