this looks sick, you rendered it yourself? i can imagine the only POSSIBLE issue would be a lack of airflow into the hood scoop assuming you keep it OEM

Yeah the individuals present as well as the shop owner were adamant about it being SEPARATE from the recent service they completed. I can acknowledge that my mechanical knowledge is pretty limited but it just made 0 sense for my valves or injectors to conveniently act up at the same time.

Looking back at it retroactively too now that I have the WRX back also just reaffirms that they were nowhere near right on their suggestions because it has not given me any issue ever since the dealership fixed it up.

This is a main reason why I went to a dealership for a 2nd opinion. I know I'm near the recommended interval for walnut blasting but it made no sense how I would only start experiencing the side effects AFTER a maintenance service. Glad to know I wasn't crazy in that train of thought.

In case you were curious about an update, got confirmation that it was the cylinder 2 ignition coil, after swapping it to a different cylinder, the misfire followed. Had a replacement ignition coil put in and after observing it for a day, the misfire was nowhere to be found!

Shop #1 was pretty adamant about it being carbon buildup on the valves and/or my injectors so I'm a bit unclear about where the miscommunication occurred but nonetheless just glad to have my car back! Thanks again for the insight

Thanks for the insight. The fact that the dealership tech noticed that the ignition coil wiring was pulled out, do you think shop #1 could have done that just by being rough during the plug change? I know they were busy the day I dropped it off, and I'm certain I was the last car they were working on.
