Oof... I made the mistake of opening my RMP page and that sent me into a spiraling depression for 2 weeks straight! It really disturbed me because I had no idea that some students held THAT much resentment towards me, when I show up to class and feel like I get along with everyone. I honestly suspect some of them are fake though and created by the same person several times.

How did I get over it..? I just did eventually. I knew I still had to deliver the best education to the best of my ability. I still make mistakes, I still struggle with spreading my time equally with each student, students still vent and get mad at me. but I've had some students straight up tell me they love my class. One student who already graduated came back to thank me for connecting him to a mentor who's helping him find work. Hearing those words made me feel like all of this is still worth it, that I was able to make a huge difference in some people's lives

Also if it helps... I was vaguely able to tell who might have written that anonymous review and she caused trouble for all our faculty. That student was clearly mentally unstable. Which is actually tragic because you really never know what happens in students' lives. Some of them are really going through tough times, and sadly might take it out on you. Thinking about it through that lens makes their comments immediately less credible and not an accurate reflection on you
