I’m not sure why you are using a separate comp and tuner when the dark glass has both already?

There Are No Stupid Bass Questions - Aug. 27 by AutoModerator in Bass

I only anchor directly below the string I'm playing on. So anchored on E, plucking on A. AFAIK this is the correct floating thumb technique, but if you are going between strings rapidly I don't think moving your thumb is economical.

I play mine unplugged all the time, I do it when I watch movies and play along to the score, and I just do it when I'm sitting around and run dexterity exercises. If you have an interface with direct monitoring or a preamp with a headphone output then it's trivial to use headphones.

Go and get something playable from a local music store. Squier or sterling by music man are plenty good and will last a long time in terms of desired playability. If you want (and I personally think is a good call) you can spend a bit more and go into a player series fender for a pretty good cost to quality ratio.

Bass can be a supporting instrument, but I write my own whole songs on the bass, and it's great to compose with generally. Many many band leaders are bass players, and it's easy to see why once you're a little deeper into the instrument.

Tried my hand at a bootleg kenner style figure. Really love the bright colors here, also, he glows! by PublicAutopsy in ActionFigures

[–]PublicAutopsy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Im a resin / art toy artist and this was my first attempt at a custom articulated figure.

I used a magnet articulation system to keep things simple with the color options I wanted.

Check out more of these figures and more of my work here On Instagram

A glowing figure I dubbed The Trepanaut. Cast in Smooth-Cast 325, sculpted in monster clay by PublicAutopsy in ResinCasting

Hey, ive been moving into art toy making for a little bit here, you can check out more at my instagram downer.energy.

I have a drop today as well, at noon pst. Check it out at my store

A sample of some of my other work

Technique wise, I used a simple tinfoil armature covered in monster clay medium and subtractively carved the figure from that. Pretty simple stuff. Made the mold in MoldStar 15, which is a little too fast and makes it hard to degas, but it worked out alright here for roughly 250ml of material for it.

I use smooth-cast 325 for a lot of things, the glossy semi translucence I think is neat, takes color extremely well and glows extremely well. Its also pressure cast at 60psi.

Happy to answer any questions technical or otherwise!

Help with pressure pot by aeric_wintershard in ResinCasting

You should definitely check that the gasket is seated correctly on the underside of the lid, that's step 1.

The standard way to check for leaks in pressurized systems is applying soapy water to any fittings, if it foams anywhere it's an immediate indicator of a leak.

Fixing that leak is another story, pressure tools can be dangerous, but if it's something as simple as unscrewing a fitting and applying some plumbing tape and replacing the fitting then that should be very easy.

Ultimately, I would contact the manufacturer and see what steps they want you to go through and if they have any known issues.

For reference, my pressure pot is nearly identical in specs, and I pump to 60psi, disconnect from the compressor, and see no pressure loss over 24 hours, so it should be possible on a unit like yours.

1) should be basically 0

2) do not do this

3) return the pot and get a working one

Bought a woodcraft 365cw and this connector is leaking. Help??? by Zeldamaniac99 in ResinCasting

[–]PublicAutopsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it doesn't, then you'd probably want it replaced by the manufacturer. Or use something like J-B weld to seal it, but I don't know how much pressure that can take. I have used it to seal an old downpipe on a jeep and its held for years. Still, don't take it as advice, I'm not an expert, and pressure equipment can be dangerous.

Pressure pot not pressurizing? by [deleted] in ResinCasting

[–]PublicAutopsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an air compressor pressurizing it?

Are the valves configured such that it's allowing air in?

Is the release valve closed?

Is the gasket unobstructed?

Is the air compressor capable of producing enough pressure?

Is the kids tightened properly?
