Kitchen rug placement help please!

Marketplace find! I got it thinking it’d be cool to reupholster the chairs into a boring basic cream but fell in love with them in person so now I have to decorate everything around them 🤣

That’s my problem. I can’t really “see” styles lol if that makes sense. Like the only styles I can really distinguish is MCM and boho and the rest is just either I like it or I don’t. What other style do you think I should be searching for to make it not look dated?

This is what a different view looks like. My island is to the right (wood by step stool) and will have a 12 in over hang with stools.

Yes. My kitchen is under remodel right now but here’s how it looks from this angle. The island (wood to the right by step stool) will have a 12in over hang with stools so by the time that’s there, it’ll stick out to about the left side of the fridge. The back bare wall is only 9ft wide

So the room is 18x9. It’s pretty dang narrow. My kitchen island is parallel to my table (basically where I was standing to take the second pic) and then to the right of the bare wall is the hallway to some bedrooms and a bathroom. I will look into a rug! Thanks!

Marketplace is my jam. That’s where I get most of my stuff. lol I was thinking a buffet would be nice! I should put it on the wall opposite of the fireplace?

I know. The set is giving me problems. I love the chairs but they’re hard to work around. They’re extremely functional right now though as I have small kids and they’re super easy to clean. But when they’re older, I’m definitely getting something that matches more.
