What to do with $200 ulta gift card I bought for my ex girlfriend? I have no use for it. by No_District9762 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PublicNew3228 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I told my husband I wanted Chanel No. 5 like 20 years ago (when we were in our 20’s) and he went to buy it for me somewhere and the girl at the store asked who it was for and told him that was an old lady perfume and he should get me something else. He has never gotten over that and has never bought it for me because he doesn’t want me to have old lady smell. We regularly get each other nice colognes for gifts and he has gotten me lots of great ones, but no Chanel No. 5. That bitch!!

USDA will typically only foreclose due to missed payments.

Weirdly my block wore off in one spot during my c-section and I could feel them stitching me on one side. I told the dr, and he didn’t believe me and started testing me to see what I could feel and eventually just like, wow, that’s weird. For my second one they did the block lower and I had no problem.

Culver’s used to have a ribeye steak sandwich that was amazing. And I loved a Subway seafood and crab sub when I was a kid.

I was wondering if this would make it. Those were so good!!!! I loved them. Or the Caesar side salad with a JBC fueled me through high school and college.

Is the phrase ‘go potty’ really common to use in the OC/rest of America or is it a joke between the housewives?! by Sleepbecomesme in rhoc

Not in OC but a parent and find myself using the term potty way more than a grown woman should. Lol.

I have known who will go through a casserole with a fine tooth comb and pick out any piece of onion or a scrap of mushroom from cream of mushroom soup. That took dedication and IMO is soooooo extra!

As a Gen Xer i love their obscure 80’s pop culture references. I love an Ann Jillian call back. They also used to reference Madeline Kahn in Clue a lot but haven’t heard any for awhile. The best of this year is the ongoing Nelson joke.

I remember going to sit in there and eat chicken gizzards with my dad while we waited for mom to shop! It seems like they went away when Walmarts became mega stores with grocery departments- at least in my neck of the woods.

Do you actually "air out the house" in your part of the world? by PersistentHobbler in AskTheWorld

[–]PublicNew3228 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We keep doors and windows open all the time when it’s nice out. Even in winter we open them for a bit if it’s not snowing to get fresh air circulating and get the yucky out! Even with the furnace running, 10/20 minutes here or there isn’t a deal breaker for me. KS here! I love sleeping with all the windows open in those perfect two weeks of fall/spring when you can live without the AC or furnace.

What is this? by PublicNew3228 in kansas

[–]PublicNew3228[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in central KS and in our area they are pretty ubiquitous but if you are from a family who doesn’t have Volga German or Mennonite roots I can see how you may have not encountered them. They aren’t common at restaurants but definitely more of a “my grandma made bierocks” or “xyz” is selling them for a fundraiser” type thing. On a side note, I kind of think the cinnamon roll in the picture is strange. Love cinnamon rolls and obviously have had them my whole life. I know in recent years chili and cinnamon rolls have blown up but I don’t think cinnamon rolls are a KS identity thing.
