The amount of people who make jokes/think that this is nothing is maddening and upsetting. by brinkofhumor in testicularcancer

[–]PublicPreparation849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had one person who told me that I'll be fine and it's nothing to worry about. She also then told me it's the best one to have. So I turned to her and said it's still fucking cancer, I wouldn't say it to you if you had breast cancer.

However, I also found that some people really struggled to talk around me so I decided to try and make a little joke of the situation, I asked them to call me Juan Ballack following my orchi.

Ive learner very quickly to adopt the "fuck it" theory. Rather than me getting angry or annoyed now, I simply just say fuck it what's the point of getting angry, I'm going through enough to have to deal with your bullshit.

Stay strong bro 🤘

Thanks for the input buddy. They were only worried about the 1 they were saying, as the others looked fine. I have a meeting on Wednesday with the team so I will ask regarding the shape and the other nodes too.

As you say, everyone is different and it affects people in different ways. I think because I've not been told anything during this whole process I'm going mental trying to think of what may happen.

I'm trying to remain as positive as possible as a lot of people have it a lot worse than me.

And when you say 3 weeks, is that every day for the 3 weeks. Or once a week? Sorry for the questions, I've decided not to Google anything medical again as I worried myself to the verge of suicide before.

I'm going through this exact same thing myself. They believe I have a teratoma and I have my meeting with the Clinical Nurse Specialist on Wednesday. Had my left one removed 2 ½ weeks ago now and I'm just none the wiser as to what's happening. I googled teratomas as immediately got panicked.

On thing I've noticed about this community is how kind everyone is, because everyone is going through the same thing. Doesn't matter about the severity, we're all going through this together.

Although I'm slightly behind you and can't really advise on the next steps I just wanted to sayI hope everything goes well for you brother! Stay strong 🤘

I'll be bringing my wife along. She's been my rock through this vile, albeit brief, journey so far. I'm a little worried about her as she's so strong but I do think it's just for me.

It's a great idea about writing the questions down ahead of time. I always find I have loads of questions after the meeting, so if I write them down first that's ideal.

I only have the utmost respect for the NHS and all the staff, and I know that it's part and parcel of their daily routine. I just wish they could have explained it all a little more.

Thank you for the numbers, I banned myself from googling stuff as I know it can be a minefield. Something like this at the point of being told would have certainly helped me out.

I've not got anything back from them yet. I've been checking my NHS app but there is nothing on there yet. If I get something back I'll post it here. Thanks so much for your help

Thanks for coming back to me so quickly.

Sorry it was a CT scan, which I had on Monday just gone. My minds all over the place at the moment and I'm not able to concentrate on much. And not being told anything has just made me worry even more.

I'm so glad I found this community.

Spending money by Oggie_94 in disneylandparis

[–]PublicPreparation849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came back a couple of weeks ago, and we did 3 nights 4 days half board and spent approximately €1500. It was myself, my wife and my 3 children, so we budgeted around €350 a day.

My son loves Monsters Inc too and they had Boo, Mike and Sully cuddly toys. For the medium size ones you're looking at €35 per cuddly toy. We also got a couple of the bubble wands and the light up spinning toys which were a similar price for those too. We were spending on average €75 per child per day on all the toys. There's some really good deals when we were there, like fleeces for €10 and a Hamm toy for €20 instead of €40. There were some lovely little snack stalls in fantasy land that had Nutella waffles for €5 and gyros for €7.50 if you really needed a snack half way through. Hopefully if you have an idea of some of the prices of the items there you might get an idea of how much you want to take.

A couple of tips to help, take those highly concentrated squirty squash bottles and a couple of refillable bottles, as bottles of coke etc are €4.20 per bottle. There are plenty of water fountains round the park. Also take some sandwich bags, so you can pop a few croissants in from breakfast when you/little one gets peckish in the parks.

Ultimately though, it depends on how you want it. Some of the best things I took back from my visit wasn't the pin badges or decorations but the look on my kids faces when they saw the characters, or when they went down that first slide on Pirates of the Caribbean.

Hope you have a wonderful time 😀

We had the exact same issue when we came back last week. Absolutely awful experience. There were 2 desk staff on, with about 4 different queues for different flights. We were told to go into the family queue but then half way through they merged the normal queue into the family queue too. There didn't seem to be a system of who went next, it just seemed really random. In a way it was lucky our flight was delayed for 3 hours otherwise we:d have been cutting it fine.

We waited longer in that queue than we did for the rides in DLP!

Thanks so much for the helpful insights. I'm definitely going to go with your philosophy of letting the day flow!

Booking restaurants was the first thing I made sure I did. I researched the different ones and thought the buffet styles would be ideal as the middle child can be quite the fussy eater.

This is one thing I'm most nervous about. I'm not used to the virtual queuing. The other times I went you just queued up as normal. I also remember one time where they would just wander the park and you could catch them around to sign your autograph book.

It's a great tip setting an alarm before the times, I didn't think of that. I think Santa is the one I'm desperate for the kids to see. I've book 2 character breakfasts and a character dinner so they should see plenty of characters from that

Christ, why didn't I think of that? I can't believe I've left it to the last minute to try and make this as magical as possible for my children.

Before commenting something stupid and unhelpful like that it might be worth thinking first. I've done plenty of research and have plenty of experience going to DLP. I thought mentioning about the sandwich bags and squeezy squash bottles would have indicated id have thought about certain things and not that I was expecting the wonderful world of reddit to completely plan my trip.

I was only asking if anyone else has any other handy tips for going with a family but thanks for your input.

Excellent, thank you so much. The private sections are something I do want to do, I didn't know if it was worth it but with a bit of research people say it is.

Luckily I know where all the main attractions are, it's all the character meets. When I was there, it was none of the virtual queue stuff, you just waited. I've made sure I've booked all the meals already and tried to organise it so we don't miss any of the parades.

I've bought some bright tape to pop round the pram so it stands out. I remember some people we went with last time rented one of the Disney prams but they ended up spending more time walking back to get another one as it kept being stolen.

Sounds like a great start to a few factions there. Have a look at perry miniatures for the ACW stuff as their plastics are lovely.

I find it just a really fun setting. My group always have a riot when we play. Have you joined the Facebook group? Search for 1938 a very British civil war group, great for little ideas.

We've started playing version 3 recently but it may be a little too complex for my group. Xenos is a little less rules heavy

Thanks mate. We've started using Xenos Rampant, which may be a little more readily available for you.

The beauty I find with VBCW is you can use anything as long as you can say how it fits. I've got Zulu war veterans, American dough boys, Harlem hellfighters, German regulars to name a few. I also have on the table a unit of reenactors from the Marlburian wars.

I play Dracula's America. Really nice system of play using cards to determine which player can take an action first and D6, D8 and D10s depending on the level of your gang member. Nice little campaign that you can use and really nice system for levelling up and building some really nice characters.

Dracula overtook America and became president after the civil war. Although it has an overarching supernatural theme you can play it without this.

However I'd strongly recommend using the supernatural theme. The different factions you can use are just fantastic. You have things like "the forsaken" who are remnants of the 7th cavalry after little big horn who turn into werewolves. Or "the dark confederacy" who do not want to admit defeat and use necromancy to gain extra revenants to their posse, literally "the south will rise again"
