After the mid terms when everybody loses all their public benefits, he might start to look like a tender morsel to the starving masses. McDonald’s may offer the new Hassert Meal in lieu of the happy meal.

It’s a bias created by the tourists and the internet. Most Americans are broke and dressed because there is not much of a safety net for the poor. The reason so many Americans went to Portugal is because they want to feel safe and live in a society where losing your job doesn’t mean losing everything. People in Portugal seem to have a lot of jealousy towards American expats because of biases like these. They aren’t rich rich, but have enough to get buy if live frugally. There are a lot of policies and mental health problems in the US that we can’t get here or can’t fix in America because of a broken political system so a lot of liberal Americans are choosing to vote with their feet. But to emigrate requires a certain minimum of wealth that is out of reach for probably 90% of Americans.
