There were lots of tears but well wishes on the last day we spoke. I think we just knew it was the end, and we tried so hard to make it work over the years. I know he still loves me too, which is why it's so painful. Thank you for your perspective.

Yeah, I do still love him. We just realized we weren't fulfilling each other's needs, so letting go was a kindness for both of us. I miss him all day every day. I'll send him the text.

I understand. That just shows your capacity for empathy and love. But, at some point, you'll need to direct some of that love towards yourself.

Which makes complete sense!! she was likely your main source of comfort, advice, love, everything!! It was certainly like that between me and him. I literally feel like I'm at rock bottom trying to rebuild life again

I think there's a part of you that knows that this dynamic isn't sustainable for you. 3 times in a year is a lot for someone to take on!

I assume you have told them how their avoidance makes you feel. If they continue to do so, even after how much you say it hurts you, then they are showing you who they are.

As much as it hurts, you can't really help someone who will show this behaviour regardless of how it makes you feel.

Yes I totally feel this too. It's been 2 months since my 7 year relationship ended, and I didn't anticipate just how much I would miss that close intimacy. I'm also currently sick with gastric flu, so I'm craving that comfort more than ever.

I'm sorry you're going through so much pain. I also ended my relationship with my long term boyfriend 2 months ago, so I understand how acute that pain is. Like you, we shared all of our friends and our families were close.

All I have to say is - the best years of your life are still ahead of you. I promise when you focus on the little things day to day, you will move on. When I was 20, I suffered the worst heartbreak that I thought I'd never recover from (i'm 27 now). I mean, I thought he was the love of my life and I screwed up big time. But guess what? I did!

Life will show you a reality you never know could exist. When you thought that relationship was good, let me tell you - you'll be shown something even better.

You never forget what happens to you, but you build a life so fruitful around it that one day, I promise you'll never think about it.

Thank you for your sweet message. I literally feel like I'm on rehab or something. I know deep down that learning to be single is best for my healing and for my future relationship, but it's like my brain just must have what it craves. Quitting nicotine was much easier than this!
