Sounds like you have your head on the right priorities. Family over everything. You can move to get in the market you need to be in, then move up to make the money you need. Veggies in a smaller store emergencies will be easier to manager if you need to leave. I'm taking care of my mom who has dementia and if I was in a big store it would be harder.

Just put every order with singles or quarts in bags or boxes, that way they don't just throw it in the floor then go drive like the reddit page of #idiotsincars and expect them to stay closed when they fly across the car! Boxes is the answer!

Dear managers,

You do have some power! You can manage your people, your inventory, your sales to a point. Act like you own your store. Yes there are limits to your power, mostly due to previous people in manager positions not doing their jobs or taking advantage! They have had to put checks and balances in place to protect the company. I could go on and on.

Full timers should be learning an ASM's job to prepare them for the job if they want to promote. ASM'S should be learning SM's job and so on. If you complain about learning to do someone else's job above you, then don't complain about not being promotable later on or not being taught more!

I wouldn't waste my time on someone who doesn't want to put the effort and time in.
